Allegra Sweat dripped in my eyes and stuck my hair to the back of my neck. My chest heaved as I struggled to catch my breath, a cramp in my side telling me I may have pushed myself a little too hard, but at least my mind felt more settled than when I’d begun the hard workout. The trees were beginning to change from the dark green of late summer to the vibrant tapestry of autumn. The days were still warm, but the nights were beginning to cool off, and there was a definite bite to the breeze in the mornings, promising cooler days on the way.
