LEAH  My eyes flutter awake as the only presence giving me rest and comfort is suddenly gone. The sheets are still warm. “Where’s he?” I mutter. I reach across the bed, my eyes still fogged from sleep, expecting to feel his chest, and his huge arms. I wanted to feel his hand, waiting to tangle with mine again like it did last night. But there’s nothing. It's just heat, and then… empty space. I sit up, the blanket slipping down my waist. The air’s a little colder, and hollow without him.
