A part of me almost vanishes as I watch life suddenly disappear from Leah’s eyes. Her scream was so loud, it was almost deafening. Her pain and fear surges through me as I feel life draining from her.
I look around, the possessed wolves attacking me have dropped to the floor and are burnt by Leah's power. Wait… the f**k? She's using powers now?
I rush to her and catch her before she hits the ground. She's limp in my arms, her head rolling against my chest, but her skin is still glowing faintly. Veins of silver light pulsing through her like fire under the surface, brightly.
“Leah.” I shake her, my voice breaking. “Stay with me Leah, open your eyes.”
