Traps

Alex Pov:

I had been getting drinks but when I returned, Evie was walking with Callie. Callie had noticed me and shook her head,

"girl chat Alpha, wait for us. Don't interrupt!"

I growled at her, she laughed back, "I'm helping but it will do no good if you interrupt us."

"Fine." Chase and I both growled, walking towards Bella, who had a blue teething in her mouth giggling. She shouldn't be sitting up all ready, but her magic is strong. I can feel it and see it pulse through her. She brought herself up floating in the air, then she slowly floated down to the floor, a prime example of her magic in show. The daycare workers that we're watching some of the children had stopped working. Some of the new ones stood stunned in place, the others chuckling or smiling in amusement.

"These girls are going to be the death of us" Chase said flatly.

I laughed and saw Joe approach me, "Alpha."

I nodded and asked, "How are you feeling?"

Joe laughed, "Nervous and excited all at the time! I'm all ready talking to my wolf and getting to know him better."

"So? What is his name?" I asked.

"Brock," Joe said excitedly, "I can't wait to meet him."

I laughed.

Joe huffed and puffed out his chest, "Anyways, I would like to ask you for permission to work with Sam and Zack and upgrade our security system."

I looked at Joe and smiled, "Upgrade? Uh traps then?"

"Oh, definitely traps, but not just that. I would like to add cameras and alarm systems. Jade was talking to Jake and I about Evie's traps that she made with magic. I would like it if she would put some magical ruins on them. It will catch trespassers or unwanted rogues but keep the pups safe or the wolves that can't fight. It'll give us a warning system. The warriors can respond better and we can get the innocent into the bunker faster."

Joe was always into tricks and wirers ever since the age of 5 years old, when he rigged up blue dye in Jack's shower head. It was quit a site. Poor Jake looked like a blue smurf. At first, it started off small like whoopee cushions, an over flowing sink or toilet, and fake snakes. Then it turned into more. Ideas of drop pits, rope traps, and tar traps he saw once in a movie. Joe's been upgrading himself to computers and new technology, learning the ins and outs of military weapons as well. He's best work so far was the jeep he modified into an army tank. If some of his traps could keep the pack safe and keep him out of trouble. Well, why not? I looked at Joe and smirked, "That sounds great Joe. I've been wanting to upgrade it and if you got some ideas about improving on it, that would be great."

Joe grinned like a fool but it vanished quickly as he wrapped his arms around his stomach. Matt and Iduna ran quickly to Joe and a few minutes later Jake and Jade were there as well. Joe's screams filled the air for a few seconds before his family's soothing voices started calming him down and his breathing started to steady.

"Easy son, take a breath."

"Your doing so well, honey."

"Let your wolf take over."

"Relax, bro, you can do this!"

Bones started popping and cracking, Joe's breathing was hitching but he was relaxed. After a few minutes, a slow growl slipped out. A brown wolf stood in front of me. Not as dark as Jakes or sandy brown as Jades. Brock looked like maple wood with different browns mixing into different shades. Blazing blue eyes stared at me, relief flowed in them and curiosity took place. I laughed "Great job Joe!" The Coopers howled to the moon together and everyone started shifting. I started removing clothes and heard sobs from Evelina.

"Callie! What the h**l are you doing to my mate!" Chase and I said together.

"Easy Alpha, everything is okay here, run and when you come back she'll be fine and dandy"

I heisted a bit but Chase and I decided to run, the pack needed us and if Callie could help open our mate up, then so be it. It hurt though that she could talk to Callie so freely and not me. I shifted as Chase took over. He ran to Cooper's and we all dashed off. The run was invigorating, it let me out of my head for a while. Air and a little breeze that blew through my fur felt glorious! We got back to the picnic area and I was in the middle of dressing when I was interrupted.

A giggle came above my head. I looked up to see Bella floating up there. "Holy S***t!" I gaped at her.

After a few minutes, clearing my head, I called out to Bella, "Come down here little one."

She floated and landed softly in my arms with another laughter coming from behind and a voice entered my head at the very same time.

"She's going to be very powerful when she comes fully into her powers."

I turned to see Evie coming towards me. I saw her new symbol over her heart and smiled at her.

"Look who else has become very powerful." I noted, "Looks like Bella will have a wonderful and powerful mother and mentor."

She smiled fully and frowned just as quickly,

"I'm so sorry Alex and Chase. I didn't really let you in. I was scared and frightened. I thought I was taking Mara's place, I felt the Moon Goddess made a mistake.":

"The Moon Goddess never makes mistakes. You and Mara are both our mates, Evie. We will never forget her, but you are here and we never want to lose you like we lost her. You just have to open yourself to us. We all ready love you, Mate," said Chase.

"Thank you Chase, I'm sorry that I also shut you guys out of my head. There was so much to think about and add the wolves to the mix as well. I kind of broke down and hid. I'm disappointed in myself because I'm a fighter and fighters don't hide."

I laughed at her, " Sometimes the great warriors get knocked down but it is when they get up that counts, love."

Evie laughed and rolled her eyes at us, "Cheese ball."

I laughed back and went to her. I wiped one of her cheeks with the back of my hand and watched her eyes close. I could feel it, the small little shock wave were gone. The ones I am feeling now went straight through my body and straight down to my toes. Evie sighed, opened her eyes and looked back at me. I felt the mate bond click and it was earth shattering. It took my breath away. Chase was doing flips and yipping at the back of my head, yelling, "Finally! Thank you, Moon Goddess!"

My hand went to the back of her neck and slowly pulled her closer. I couldn't take it anymore and crushed her with my lips. The heat was so fiery that the breeze was not even noticeable. I licked her bottom lip, she moaned and opened her mouth. Taking the invite, I shoved my tongue in her mouth and moaned back. Our tongues battled and tangled. My whole body was on fire every place she touched and I could feel the goose bumps on her skin. This wasn't the same woman anymore, she didn't flinch under my hand this time. Instead, she pressed herself against my touch, arching and shifting for me to take more. It drove me mad and excited all at the same time.

Suddenly, I felt little hands and a big wetness from my cheek to my chin. I broke the kiss apart, looking to my left to see my Bella giggling like a lune. Not leaving Evie out of it. Bella reached her little hands on Evie's face and leaned to her cheek with her mouth wide open as she could and planted a kiss in the same spot she did me. Bella pulled back and had the biggest, proudest smile on her face as she was part of the moment. Evelina and I laughed so hard until my poor stomach hurt so badly. When the laughing had settled down, I noticed Bella yawning and I looked at Evie.

"I think it's passed someone's bed time." I told her. Evie nodded and grinned wider as Bella yawned again. We walked back to the pack house. Once we were up in our room, I took Bella into her little room next to ours. It once belonged to me as an office but I had it remodeled into a nursery for her. The walls were painted a light purple, with white curtains, a white crib and a changing table. Toys and toy boxes were scattered all around the room. Little stars hanging from the ceiling that light up like night lights. I changed Bella and put her in pajamas, I gave her a bottle, burped her, then showered her with kisses. Laying her down in her crib. I watched her fall asleep. It always gave me joy to watch her sleep. It was peaceful and brought full joy to my heart.

I walked into my room and saw Evelina in a white robe. Her hair floated down her face and shoulders outlined her features. I was in awe. She looked like a goddess. I could see the strain in her face, the uncertainty in them.

"Before we start this I have something to tell you," she said as she sat on the edge of the bed. She patted a stop next to her and I went to her and took my spot. I heard her take a breath, "I really haven't been with a lot of men, well, one man that is. However, I want you to know me."

She went on about how her first experiment was with a friend. They had been friends forever and he was another elf, they had so much in common and when they hit high school. They started getting s*****l feelings towards each other, they acted on it. They were both drunk when they decided to act on these feelings. According to her, it was sloppy and awkward. If that wasn't embarrassing enough, the man fell asleep during the middle of it. Evie's face had turned into a bright tomato as she commented, "I was so ashamed of it. He was still in me and I just lay there thinking, this is it? Then the next was far worse than I anticipated."

"Mara and I were working on a deal so we could get cash to move to the next town. The client that hired us needed pictures of her cheating husband for a court date. Mara and I would do this every time in a new city to get cash undertable, so it wasn't easy to pick up our trail. Mara that night, had a vision of us getting caught and tried to talk me out of the job. It was one of her magical abilities. See she wasn't much of a fighter, peaceful was always her way. Her strength was in defense, making sure she wasn't there or settling things down with only a few words. "

"I asked how? Without the money, we couldn't leave. We agreed to do it just for the cash.We agreed to get in the car and go straight to the next town that same day. While I was taking pictures, both of us didn't hear them until it was too late. They used tranquilizing guns on us. The next moment, I had woken up in a prison. Mara and I were both hanging from the ceiling of the cell, b**t naked and had magical cuffs on to stop us from using any of our abilities. There in the middle was Todd."

"Alpha Rogue," I commented, she nodded. Tears flowed down staining her rob but I didn't dare move towards her. My heart was breaking and I knew Chase and I needed to hear this. With one swift movement, she sat on my lab, all on her own accord in needing contact.

"You don't have to continue, love, not if you need to wait for a moment, I will wait for you." She shook her head no.

"I need to tell you, you deserve to know."

"Okay." I answered sadly.

I held her there rubbing little circles on her back to calm her. To be honest, Chase and I both needed a moment. He was pacing back and forth, growling and snapping so that it was hard to hear a word. We were defiantly not going to like the next part of her story, I thought.
