The hospital's automatic doors slid open as she walked through, and she scrunched her nose as the antiseptic scent hit her like a punch to the gut. She hadn't set foot in a hospital since her mother's passing. The same clinical hallways, the same beeps of machinery, the same hushed whispers of worried families. Every step she took reminded her of the times she visited her sick mother in the hospital, they reminded her of how she failed to prevent her mom's death.
