Nadia's POV Lucian couldn't wait to get back to the hospital to see Abbie. I moved through the kitchen like a ghost, my head heavy and so were my limbs. I cleared the table, washed the dishes, and scrubbed the counters. Then, I took a long, hot shower, letting the steam blur my vision until my skin turned pink, then crawled into bed. As I closed my eyes, I heard the front door click open. My heart gave a traitorous little jump. Lucian? He left so late; I figured he'd stay the night with her. It wouldn't have been the first time. Besides, they'd spent the day looking at wedding dresses. I assumed they'd be inseparable. Stop it, Nadia, I scolded myself, burying my face in the pillow. Stop acting like a jealous, bitter mate. Stop overthinking every footstep. I hated this version
