The shop was bright, the lights humming with a nervous energy. Kaleb was pacing the floor, looking like he was about to wear a hole in the carpet. The moment he saw me, he rushed over, grabbing my shoulders. "Nadia! Where have you been? I couldn't reach you through the Mind Link!" He scanned my face. "Did he do something? Did that bastard hurt you?" I shook my head, sinking into a chair with a heavy sigh. "Alpha Reid is in the hospital. It's our fault." "And, what's the word on the lawsuit?" Kaleb's face fell. He sat down across from me, looking defeated. "It's bad. I checked with my sources. Malik's legal team is hard to deal with.
