Chapter 18 The crisis of discovery

It was a dark and windy night when Lily sneaked into her secret training ground as she always did. The surrounding area was silent, with only the occasional cries of the night lords.

Lily took a deep breath and began her intense training. She began with a series of intense physical exercises, her shirt soaked with sweat, but it didn't slow her down at all. Suddenly, while she was fully engaged in her training, there was a faint sound of footsteps in the distance.

Lily's heart tightened and she was instantly alerted. She stopped her movements and listened with bated breath as the footsteps grew closer and seemed to be heading in her direction. Her heart raced and her mind raced as she thought about what to do.

Lily quickly hid behind a huge rock, her heart beating like a drum, not daring to utter a single breath. Footsteps stopped nearby and a figure appeared in her sight. By the faint moonlight, she could see that it was one of the clan's patrol members.

The torch in the patrol member's hand illuminated a small area around him as he looked around warily, seemingly sensing something out of the ordinary.Lily pressed herself tightly behind the rocks, praying not to be detected. Her heart was in her throat, and beads of sweat slid down her cheeks.

As the patrol approached the rock step by step, Lily could feel her breathing becoming difficult. Just in the nick of time, a rabbit suddenly sprang out of the nearby bushes, and the patrol members were attracted to it and turned around to chase after the rabbit.

Lily breathed a sigh of relief, but she knew that now was not the time to relax. She waited until the patrol had disappeared into the night before she cautiously stepped out from behind the rock. However, she hadn't gone more than a few steps when she heard another shout from the distance, which seemed to be the other patrol members calling out for the man from earlier.

Not daring to delay, Lily quickened her pace and left the training grounds. She made her way through the woods, trying not to make a sound. But in her panic, she accidentally stepped on a dead branch, and with a “click”, the sound of a crisp break seemed particularly loud in the silent night.

The distant shouts stopped, and Lily's heart hung in the air again. She stopped and hid behind a large tree, not daring to move. After a while, when she saw no movement, she continued on her way.

When she finally returned to her place, she collapsed on her bed. This thrilling experience left her with a shiver in her heart, but it also made her more cautious.

In the following days, Lily adjusted the time and place of her training, and was more careful to avoid the patrolmen. But she also understood that such a crisis could occur again at any time, and she had to improve her strength as soon as possible in order to be able to cope with all kinds of emergencies.

In order not to be detected, Lily began to observe the pattern of the patrol members and looked for gaps in their patrols for training. She also set up some simple early warning devices around the training ground, so that she could detect any wind and grass in time.

However, fate always seems to play tricks on people. One day, while Lily was training, she suddenly heard a familiar shout. She was shocked to realize that it was the same patrol member who had almost found her last time, leading several people towards this direction.

Lily hurriedly packs up her things and prepares to flee. But this time, the patrol members seemed to be prepared, they spread out and gradually narrowed down the search area, Lily felt an unprecedented crisis, her brain was running fast, thinking about how to get out of the situation.

Just then, she spotted a hidden cave next to her. Without hesitation, she dove in, trying to keep her breath as faint as possible. The patrols hovered outside the cave for a while, eventually not spotting her.

When the danger lifted again, Lily stepped out of the cave and looked to the sky with determination in her heart. She knew that the path to her dream was full of thorns, but she would never give up so easily.
