Tomorrow is the 11th day and I am about to prove the 11th day theory. 16 days later, Detective Nash was carrying out investigations on the mysterious, recent, and suddenly often deaths of people in Satyr town where he took keen interest to visit the recent crime scene, that of the traveler who claimed to have noted facts about some place called “The Secret Place.” He then set off for the previous crime location and entered the apartment only to find the corpse of the man they collected over a week ago, puzzled as he seemed with adrenaline fused all over his bones, he called for backup. Backup arrived and everyone was trembling with fear and discomfort after seeing that they were to collect the same corpse for the second time in the same apartment within a timeframe of two weeks. Detective Nash then took serious interest in knowing what killed such a powerful well known voyager, how he died and the significance of him coming to such a town only to die while leaving his work with certain gaps. Detective Nash managed to gather all the paperwork, notebooks and findings of the deceased and he realized that all the events and findings made brutal sense in conjunction with the tragic events happening in the town. Thereafter, Detective Nash made some finding of the deceased available to the public so as to honor the works of the deceased voyager and also for everyone to know about the secret place and what it has to offer. But was it a wise decision to make? What are the consequences that follow by turning such a secret place into a public place, the consequences of exposing a place with such superstitions and great enormous powers? I don’t know either but we are yet to find out.
The detective’s love for the people of Satyr town was so great that he wanted his people to understand the mysteries of their own town and thereby throwing a gift to opportunists who will have an extra 11days added to their life span if they were to visit “The Secret Place.” The publications were made available to the public both online and offline in newspapers, brochures and fliers. People of Satyr town had a lump sum of the information and it occurred that most people were actually keen to try it out, knowing they will have an extra 11 days added to their life span and defying the natural laws of death. Everything seemed okay with a lot of joy filled people, the detective even got a promotion and seemed to be loved and respected by everyone. The publications went viral such that lovers at a dying bed in the hospital said to each other “babe, we shall meet at the secret place.” Unfortunately, month later, a series of tragic events increased in the town. Superstitious unknown weird killings, attacks and ruthless rituals became a trend of the town. The police force, the church and residents of the town were no match to what was happening and hence proved helpless. The town was no longer safe to live in, tourists decreased in number until they ceased to come while residents who decided to leave the town were found dead before they could even leave. The mortality rate tremendously increased like never before with a lot of creepy creature sounds being heard around town even in broad day light. People started leaving their homes, resorting to living in a church or within church premises for it were the only safe place to be at. The town was slowly becoming quiet and deserted, the streets were now cold and isolated even at mid-day as people started living in fear of being butchered by what they cannot see.
Troubled with a guilty conscious and feeling the blood shed on his hands, Detective Nash knew that publishing the secret place wasn’t such a good idea because not everyone would cherish such knowledge and use it for a good cause. The consequences of his actions were not only felt by him but by the whole isolated town of Satyr. Hunger stroke and economic activities shook due to distress and fatal deaths, it was an undesirable and unpalatable type of situation which required quick action before it worsened. “It is hard to fight something you cannot see but what good does it bring doing nothing?” Detective Nash addressed the police force and residents of Satyr town. After addressing them all, the solution to the fracases seemed simple, the town was to be on lockdown for 15 solid days to allow the transformed invisible creatures to die with respect to the 11 days rule and so it was done. 15 days passed and the lockdown was called off and the town was declared safe again. The idea was now to destroy the secret place of Satyr to prevent anyone from ever abusing its powers again. Two hours passed from the time the town was declared safe and people felt safe for it was as though everything was back to normal with regular home and economic activities resuming, but little did they know that they were all set for the greatest m******e ever experienced in the entire history of the town. Half of the best soldiers of the town set course for the secret place and started guarding it to prevent anyone from using it while looking for a permanent solution to destroying the source of Satyr River. Moreover, “is it possible to destroy river’s source?” people wondered, but anything is possible in such a mystery town. It was then 5 hours from the time the town was declared safe where everything changed when a scary loud high-pitched voice was heard the whole town.
No sooner had the voice been heard, than chaos befall upon the town. Slit throats, chopped heads, and intestines out, waist split in two without knowing what’s killing them. It was as though the creatures were still there but even worse because they seem to have increased in number while acting starved and more aggressive than ever, such that in an hours’ time, half the town population was lost with the other half running in all directions. Troops including the police force and people with personal guns, knives, swords where others used any tool they could find, as they blindly fought back what couldn’t see. Looking at his people, Detective Nash was field with grief, sadness and anguish and he realized something, that it was as though the secret place really offers eternal life provided one remains in the transformed invisible creature form. Otherwise, there was no other explanation to what happened because careful, precise and well calculated measures were taken to avoid any blood shed of any sort before declaring the town safe. One thing clicked in the detective’s mind, and he remembered that these creatures are visible within a 100m radius from any church and he knew that the church premises were their best chance of survival. A directive was made for everyone to be either in a church or within a 100m radius from the church to be able to see what they are up against. Everyone was now on the run and obeyed anything that felt safe or seemed like a way of survival. Detective Nash did not want to watch up from his high towered office how the city was going down, so he journeyed with the people to help them get to the named radius. Being a very well trained and compassionate person, he saw one mother being butchered and brutally killed by some invisible creature which seemed to have long and steep claws and jaws from the way it slit her, so he decided to save her son from the creature because he was going to be next. Using his skills, belief, instincts and wind direction, he managed to anticipate the creature’s exact position and slayed its head off which seemed like mere luck because it shocked him to.
He discovered that once the creatures were slaughtered, they were no longer invisible but visible to the naked eye. It occurred that the beast slayed was actually a Tasmanian devil but was 5 times a Tasmanian devil’s normal height, length and strength with much deadlier claws and jaws. The Detective then took the Mother’s child to safety and gave a directive for everyone to shoot wherever the hear a weird creepy sound. Two hours passed from the time the Tasmanian devil was slayed and moans all over town from different creatures were heard, of which the s*******r was the only explanation to the weird sorrowful beast moaning act which took 20 minutes to stop. Immediately the moans stopped, creature attacks on the beings became more intense that even people within a 100m radius from the churches were no longer safe as the creature did not mind their vulnerability anymore for as long as they slit, s*******r and cause some bloodshed. There was chaos all over again as people run for their lives causing total scramble without giving room for fighters to shoot or fight back. Thereafter, careless shooting and fighting back followed but it was like fighting a losing battle because creatures overpowered and outnumbered the available man power. The only safe place now became inside the church as creatures could not penetrate inside for unknown reasons they couldn’t even feel the church walls, but unfortunately, the church couldn’t accommodate everyone, moreover, the necessary food and water supplies would eventually run out. Safety was the only important factor of the moment and inside the church was a very safe place although not a permanent solution to the on-going fracases. A few hours later, the town became so quiet with people hiding in churches and seeing creatures roaming around the streets and eagerly hungrily waiting for them. Days went by and starvation stroke as all food reserves became empty after the church run out of stock, hunger then forced others to walk out in search for food and water of which the majority who left never made it back to the church. It was now a matter of survival of the fittest as people had to face their fears and kill in order to eat, it was like a living nightmare for most and like the end of the world for others.
Detective Nash saw how the town was falling into pieces and somehow felt responsible for everything, the person that was highly regarded by the citizens and so respected was now the talking point with everyone pointing fingers at him. He then knew he had to do something to help make things right again, so he sat down in disappointment to decide on the next move. After thorough thinking he realized that defeating super natural creatures using physical means was not working hence it was time to beat them at their own game. The Detective strongly believed that his greatest fear were the ancient mammoth creatures and so he set course for the secret place to wash his face there, commit suicide and confidently turn into one of the biggest fierce terrestrial creatures that ever lived, all to help fight the on-going battle. To his surprise, after reaching the secret place, troops who guarded the place were no longer there, so he wondered what happened to such skillful soldiers, but he just went on with his aim for going to the place and washed his face in the waters of the source. Thereafter, he left for the town to face the creatures without detest and remorse, as he reached, he walked the streets with the courage like no other being because he knew that losing his life was his plan for the moment in order to unleash the mammoth and kill as many creatures as he believed it was the least he can do for his people. Stressed, worn out, fade up and out of faith and hope, the people of Satyr town became and hence, had nothing to live for anymore. There was nothing to entice them to continue living plus their movements were stationary if they were to live, but after noticing the detective put up such a stunt, many thought he is just fade up and thereby committing suicide in that manner while others were amused by how fiercely he fought the creatures. The extent to which he went was quite tremendous as he faced several creatures and slaughtered quite a number but unfortunately, they were too many for one being, so he was butchered to death by the creatures.
The people filled with fear and resentment lost all hope after witnessing the death of such an important influential being, it was as though everyone was now waiting for their death or probably death was waiting for them instead. Detective Nash’s aim was to transform into a vast fierce deadly creature that will give him advantage over other creatures, but he told no one of his plan, but people still forgave him for his bravery. There was now no one to give directives to the last fighters, hence direction was lost, and creatures took advantage. Creatures became smarter and started smashing churches using logs and other means to get to the people inside or force them out, which meant the church was safe no more. Detective Nash completed his transformation, but he felt smaller than ever, he turned into a gecko, hence, his greatest fear being a mammoth a was just imaginary, but his actual worst fear was a gecko. “But what can a gecko do in a battle of fierce large creatures?” completely nothing, so it was a failed project and it made him feel like a failure, he was probably one on that one. Thereafter, his tiny little self-did not even last an hour before he was eaten by another creature and a dark cloud was upon the town. It was going to be the death of everyone and everything with a new world of creatures who live eternally to take over and rule, the zeal to fight back was all lost and everyone was now ready to die. Generations were lost thereby preventing even generations to come, the town was cleansed off all human beings and this proved that “The Secret Place,” should indeed be a secret place, otherwise consequences that behold are quite lethal. Over 150,000 souls were claimed which led to the unleashing of the darkest and most deadly evil I have ever known, and the last survivor amongst the troops that were guarding “The Secret Place,” I have to hurry and warn other towns for what’s coming.
