"You will do no such thing! I will rather die than work for you! Dirty wolf!" Sparrow barked.
One of the wolves growled at her and quickly aimed for her with sharp claws. Sparrow side stepped his attack and stabbed his arm with her knife. He was too loose with his attack so he didn't realise Sparrow was going to fight back. The man flinched in pain as he ogled at the daring Sparrow. He took few steps backwards and held his arm as the stinging pain swerved through his hands. He pulled out the knife and let if fall to the ground. "You stubborn human! I shall teach you a lesson!" He made for Sparrow again.
"Stop Karen!" The alpha commanded with a hoarse voice that forced Karen out of Sparrow's way. "I have said what I wish to do and you have to respect it Karen."
"She stabbed me alpha. A low filthy human stabbed and you just won't do anything? This is so unlike you." His wounds had healed perfectly at this point. One distinctive ability of werewolves, super healing.
Sparrow seized this opportunity. She was going to escape. She slipped into the forest again. Sharp twigs brushed against her face, scratching her flesh as she accelerated. Now frantically trying to escape by all means. She had no weapon to contend with these dirty wolves that had no shame while standing before a woman with no clothe. Even if she did have a weapon, she can't possibly fight off more than one wolf at the same time right?
"You see that alpha? Your slave is escaping." Karen pointed out with a hint of disgust in his voice. The alpha quickly went after Sparrow. His huge body almost blending with the air as he darted past trees after Sparrow's tiny figure. He was both angry and tense. He was trying to save this human but she is ungrateful. She is trying to escape werewolves with those tiny leg of hers.
Sparrow's body continued moving quickly under the canopy of the thick trees in the forest. Her sweat dried up almost instantly as the warm air washed over her face again. She was desperate to escape but the alpha behind her was desperate to catch her and make her his slave. She didn't know when she stepped into a dark grove with dark eerie trees and eerily thick fog covering every part of the grove. She didn't stop to look back as the sound of feet shuffling through dried leaves after her notified her that someone was on her tail.
The ground suddenly trembled beneath her. The trees before her turned and tilted and the panicked growl of a creature rang through the woods as the ground lifts on the back of a colossal green skinned creature. Centuries of loam and soil slide from the back of this creature as it shakes the dirt off and takes position before the approaching two.
Sparrow forcefully skidded to a halt and tripped on sighting this prodigious green skinned creature. The twig that had caused her fall pierced a large amount of flesh on her foot as it got stuck there, eliciting a painful groan from her lip. She almost caught the floor from the pain but felt strong steady arms grab her from behind and hold her in place.
The other wolves appeared at this instant and the alpha pushed the wounded Sparrow to them.
"Its an orc!!" One of the wolf human announced.
"How is this possible?"
"But the moon's covering can't let them see us." Karen muttered.
The alpha bolted towards the orc that was making for them in its short but heavy strides given its enormous weight that shook the forest. "Alpha what are you doing? We should leave!" Karen beckoned but the alpha was beyond their hearing distance.
The alpha crouched before that orc as it raised it's large foot to stamp alpha to the floor. He jumped and transformed midair. Stretching his claws, he pitched himself on the orc's body by sticking his claws into its flesh. Like a flash, his claws went round the creature's nape and made deep large gushes on its flesh. The massive size of the orc didn't let it act on time, instead the alpha succeeded in cutting its throat. Thick greenish gore pushed out with the large deep cut from the sharp claws.
Alpha held the orc's body tightly as it landed heavily to the floor, raising massive amount of dried leaves into the air. It's loud fall echoed through the forest and shook the trees in return.
Alpha jumped down and transformed to a human. They were not ashamed of being naked before a common human. It was normal to be naked after a shift.
Sparrow on the other hand didn't say a word. She only stared back at the orc with thoughts of "did such mystical creatures exist?" Her eyes went to Karen who caught her eyes on him and he glared at her as he gave her the look of, "if anything had happened to alpha, I would have killed you." Sparrow cared less so it didn't matter if anyone of them died, best if all of them died.
Alpha exhaled loudly as he returned to the group. One hand on his hip, he turned to Karen. "Are we going to stay this way Karen?"
Karen gulped. "Go get the bag Olin and meet us at the hill." The shifter nearest to Karen took off immediately transforming swiftly to his wolf form. Sparrow kept trying to believe that this is a possibility but her mind fought it.
"I guess this is their territory. We should head off now." Alpha suggested.
"What do you think about this? A coincidence or the moon's fury?" Karen asked. His hands were tightly gripping Sparrow's in order to avoid her taking off again while he glared at her peripherally.
"About what? The orc?" Karen nodded in agreement. "I don't think it was after us. It can't see us. It could only see the human who trespassed because of her insolence." His gaze turned fierce as soon as his eyes went back to Sparrow in a shrill manner.
"It was going to step on you. It could clearly see you alpha." Karen insisted. He was sure the orc could see them.
"We have spent many years in Aremoth since birth and the moon have never for once removed her protection from us neither did it falter. Stop imagining things. We have to go. Its getting cold for her." Alpha said when he saw Sparrow's slightly shivering lips.
"Do you care? She's a slave after all." Karen snapped.
"We won't be taking a dead body as a slave to the pack Karen." Alpha gave Karen a cold look that emanated from his position as alpha and forced Karen against his wish. Karen grumpily pushed Sparrow to the other shifter who performed a nelson on her as they began to leave the foggy grove.
"Do you think tying me up and forcing me to your dwelling will leave me with no option but to work for you? I will rather slit my throat and die an honourable death upon my own sword." Sparrow retorted with a croaky voice that showed the anger tightening her throat.
Alpha turned back to her. He was ahead, leading the team while Karen was behind with the last wolf. They paused in their tracks as alpha approached Sparrow. "My name is alpha Raven. I am the alpha of North Aremoth pack and whatever I want, I will get in a hundred folds. Don't try any other nasty thing otherwise the first thing I will do is to gash your throat..." He put forward his right palm towards Sparrow's face and quickly extended his claws which stood in place of his finger nails. "With my claws." He concluded with a smirk and turned back to his track satisfied with the point he had made.
"Am not afraid of dying. Death is a beautiful thing that takes you away from pains..."
"And gives you joy and perfection in return right?" Karen ridiculed.
"Dirty wolf!" She barked in retaliation and clenched her jaws. Karen snarled as he became furious. She was calling him dirty again and alpha looks so satisfied with it. He isn't doing anything. If care is not taken, he is going to kill this human before they even get to the pack.
"Sparrow!!!"
Sparrow heard an indistinct call of her name which didn't escape wolf humans due to their great sense of hearing. At first, Sparrow thought she didn't hear right but her doubts were crossed out when she heard the call again.
The wolf humans stopped to listen again so as to catch where the call was coming from.
Sparrow wanted to beckon on whoever was calling her to come save her but on a second thought, she would end up endangering the person's life. She decided to ignore the call and continue but the wolf humans weren't ready to ignore it.
Alpha Raven bolted towards the direction of the call. "Continue without me. I think its a human." He said before taking off into the other swampy part of the forest.
