Elena thought about what Samuel said, it was widely spread online. She quickly took out her phone and searched for the news but the webpage would not load.
She was frustrated, it seemed that Charles had shut down the internet throughout Luke Residence. He must have been afraid that she would see the news but the more he tried to protect her, the more panicked Elena became.
Quietly, she snuck out of Charles’s room and went back to her own. She took her phone out again but the internet was still not working so she decided to call Winnie.
After making small talk about their graduation thesis defense, Elena said, “Winnie, I was out of the country for a few days. I don’t know what has been happening here at home. Was there anything in the news recently? Tell me about it?”
