Elena was still lost in thought. It was indeed not a wise decision to come here with Charles. She just stood there and did not speak a word but she was still being pulled in to the situation.
Mabel was about to reach for Elena, holding her hand to slap her and looking at her furiously. Elena was scared of the woman coming toward her so she moved out of the way. At the same moment, Charles stepped in between Mabel and Elena, the slap landed with a loud smack on his cheek.
The room suddenly got very silent, everyone was in shock and looked at Charles.
“Charles Luke, go away, don’t protect this b***h!” Mabel shouted at him in a daring voice. She had slapped Charles! It made her a little scared so she was trying to justify her actions.
