The Alpha was fuming because he knew the pack would soon find us, and because the only explanation for why a smell-sensitive creature like a werewolf from our pack hadn't done so yet was because the Beta had extraordinary ability to mask the scent of his trails and maybe even others'.
The pack would soon be on its way here after hearing the voice signal, thus the only thing left to do was to hold off the Beta until then.
With great difficulty I held his hind leg to prevent him from killing the Alpha after he had tugged at my flesh around the neck, causing an open wound that began gushing rapidly.
Perhaps he was timid in his attacks, but I was not. I shook my head jerkily, gnashing my teeth, and landed a blow on his slender leg bone. The bone snapped and blood spurted forth, and he hobbled in pain.
It only made him angrier, and he turned around to my exhausted helplessness on the ground, where he scraped at my eye in an apparent attempt to assess the situation.
I moaned out loud in anguish as I watched him hobble onwards towards the Alpha.
Over my dead body, he will eliminate the Alpha!
I stood up, one eye blinded by the red dye, and charged at our beta, biting off a massive chunk of
muscle from his thigh. He yelped in pain, and before he could respond, I pounced again, shoving him as far away from Alpha as I could.
He naturally retaliated, but my determination outweighed his, and I pushed him even more before digging my Darrens into his neck.
"You disobedient youngster! The problem with today's youth is that they do not value tradition and often meet the same tragic end as your bumbling Alpha. The beta tried to push me away, but I had a better grip; maybe it was the adrenaline, but my wounds didn't hurt.
All I want to do is protect our Alpha! I'll take you with me if I have to die here.I told him as I pushed him up against a fence.
He struggled to break free from my grip as I sank my canines further and further into his flesh. I bit down as hard as I could till my jaw closed and the meaty flavour of his flesh filled my lips.
He squirmed in anguish on the ground but made no noise; he was bleeding badly and could not have launched another attack.
Seeing an article of clothing on the ground, I hurried back to the Alpha and threw it over his torso, supposing that, in the face of such severe injuries, he had reverted to his human form.
I sat down next to his bulky body and observed his blonde hair drenched in blood, his right arm pulled halfway off his body and dangling by the elbow, the many scratch wounds all over his body, and his increasingly irregular breathing.
Again, I howled our distress signal, which was difficult because of the damage to my neck, but I did so for as long as I could.
Although it was incredibly impolite of me, I knelt down to the Alpha and began licking his blood, starting at his face and working my way down to his midsection, where he had a large s***h mark from which blood was pouring out quickly.
The cold presence crept up behind me until he was dangerously close, and as I was preparing to defend the Alpha's body, I felt his approach.
I told myself, "It's okay if I die, but I'll protect this body! I won't let betrayal kill him," as I gave up hope for any miracle. But God has her ideas.
Suddenly, a scent I wasn't familiar with filled the air, and I turned to find a wolf I didn't recognise standing proudly tall, wrath flowing from his eyes, having attacked the Beta and thrown him away from us.
His all-black coat and white face confirmed his status as an alpha wolf; in the wolf pack, the darker the coat, the more dominant the wolf.
He charged the beta and viciously attacked him, creating a horrific sight that seemed like it was done on purpose to torture the beta.
As the beta twisted and turned in agony, the mysterious wolf continued to scratch and bite until the beta gave up the fight and died.
There was blood all over the wolf's face, and he looked at me with a hint of wicked glee. My body stiffened in preparation for another assault, but the wolf turned and ran to the other side of the fence.
Why would he let me and the Alpha be when it appeared that he and his people had a hand in attacking our Alpha? He was from Waterwoods, sworn opponents of the village I had just joined in my omega disguise.
At that moment, my entire pack arrived, haunted by the sight of Beta's corpse not too far away and my wounded wolf curled up protectively over our human leader.
I was losing a lot of blood and it was getting harder and harder to maintain my werewolf form when the female wolves in our pack saw what was happening and sprang into action to pull me aside and surround my naked self. I was so relieved to see everyone that I gave in to my consciousness.

I sighed as I came back to the present and Livia glanced at me with an anxious yet thankful expression and said, "I am so glad you are safe ma'am, let's head back to the castle! I don't want to put your good fortune on the line any further.
As she said, "You give up too soon Livia, don't forget that the reason we came here is very important for my political marriage to take place!" I couldn't help but laugh. My future father-in-law was quite worried about me because I hadn't left the castle walls since I was eleven years old.
I recalled his words and how they had cornered my father to finally let me out of the castle: "If a queen doesn't know how to engage with her subjects, she is not worthy of the throne!" However, this mission, to end the age-old war between the two villages of Stonewalls and Waterwoods, was my decision.
The king was unable to complete this task, but the Princess can!Livia's worry was warranted, but it was also the impetus behind my decision to take the plunge.
Livia, this is only the beginning, and I tell you again: do not address me as princess. She nodded and said, "Alright then, you go back to the house, it is better you are not seen around me," after I had spoken more sternly this time.
"I get it, ma'am."Get well soon, ma'am, I'll look after the place until you get back," she said as though accepting orders.
I motioned for her not to spend any more time, and she scurried out of the room, covering her face as she went. After waiting for a while, I punched the call button in my hand, urging the nurse to enter the room.
As is her custom, the nurse checked my vitals and asked, "Do you feel any pain?" before calling for the doctor."
No, I shook my head firmly.
Can I ask your name?" she said after her initial response of "Okay, wonderful." Have you got any blood related here? In reality, no one in your posse knew who you were.
That was a given, so I smiled and said, "Don't worry, all the bills will be paid in full. I don't have any living relatives here. Regarding the name, it's spelt Estella.
When I didn't continue after the nurse had written the name, she finally said, "Can you tell me your full name?""
I gave a cheery "It's just Estella" in response.
After three in the afternoon, when I still didn't feel like sleeping much, the doctor came in, and the nurse departed without making sure I could take the liquid food she had given me.

He boosted my bed so I could talk to him: "I'm sorry I had to interrupt your surgery; the nurse reports that you're doing wonderfully."then he sat down next to me.
"I have a plastered eye and probably missing a part of my neck, but I definitely do feeling amazing doctor," I said sarcastically but not intimidatingly.
He checked the monitor and said with a small laugh, "Vitals and readings are all normal, there is no need to worry anymore." If you lose a little bit of flesh from your neck, don't worry about it too much because werewolves regenerate quickly. And that cut on your thigh will heal into a lovely scar.
My left eye was wounded, and he reached out to touch the dressing: "I'm worried about this!" The scars left by the scratches will be badass for sure. But... My main concern is your eye; it was injured, and I seriously doubt it will ever be of any use to you again, he said softly.
