Elora's day began like any other, with a sense of normalcy at the coffee shop and hotel. But as evening approached, she steeled herself for the club. As she arrived, Jack confronted her, his face twisted in annoyance. "Where were you last night? You missed a shift." Elora ignored him, disappearing into the dressing room. The mirror reflected her tired eyes, but she hid the exhaustion behind a mask of makeup. She emerged transformed, wearing the stunning "Aurora" gown. Its fitted design shimmered with iridescent sequins, showcasing her physique. The short hemline teased the edge of modesty. Her hair cascaded down her back in loose waves, with strategically-placed strands framing her face. Smoky eyes and bold lip color completed the mesmerizing look. As she danced, Elora's worries dissipated with each step. Tips flowed in, and for a moment, she forgot her troubles. But when her shift ended, reality awaited. Collecting her earnings, Elora headed home, exhausted. The city's neon lights blurred together, a kaleidoscope of color.
As she approached her house, a familiar sense of dread resurfaced. Two figures stood on her porch, their faces unyielding. Elora's heart sank. She had forgotten that today was the deadline. Her father, Benjamin, emerged from the shadows, anger etched on his face. "You're useless, Elora! If you'd just gotten that loan, we wouldn't be in this mess." Elora's eyes widened, hurt and frustration boiling over. "I've done everything I can, Dad. You're the one who—" Benjamin's furious glare silenced her. The debt collectors stepped forward, their voices cold. "Benjamin Jenkins, you owe $100,000. Payment is due now." Elora's mind raced. Where could she find that amount? Benjamin's face turned red. "You're going to pay, aren't you, Elora? You're going to save me." Elora's anger flared. "How can I, Dad? You've gambled everything away." The collectors' expressions turned uglier. "We'll take possession of your assets. You have 24 hours." As they turned to leave, Elora's world crumbled, but Benjamin's voice stopped them, "wait!" Benjamin's eyes gleamed with desperation. "I'll give you something worth more than money." Elora's instincts screamed warning. "What are you talking about, Dad?" Elora's voice trembled. Benjamin's gaze locked onto hers, cold and calculating. "You, Elora. You're the payment."
Elora's world froze. "No, Dad! You can't mean that!" Elora's scream echoed through the night. Maria, Elora's mother, emerged from the shadows, her face etched with horror. "Benjamin, how could you? Our own daughter?" Benjamin shrugged. "She's the only asset I have left."
The debt collectors exchanged uneasy glances. "One million dollars, debt-free, and an additional $200,000 in cash," one collector stated, his voice devoid of emotion.
Elora's mind reeled. She was being sold. Maria lunged at Benjamin, tears streaming down her face. "You monster! I regret the day I married you!" Elora's anger boiled over. "You're willing to sell me to pay off your debts? After everything I've done for you?"
Benjamin's expression twisted. "You're just a pawn, Elora. A means to an end."
The collectors stepped forward, their movements ominous. "Elora Jenkins, you're now property of—" Elora's ears ringing, she didn't hear the rest. Her mother's wails filled the air.
The collectors made a swift call, their voices hushed. Within minutes, two sleek, black SUVs pulled up to Elora's home. Elora's heart sank. This was it. The collectors grasped her arms, their grip unyielding. Elora struggled, but they dragged her toward the vehicle. "Mom!" Elora screamed. Maria's wails filled the air, while Bernice sobbed uncontrollably. Benjamin stood frozen, his eyes empty. "Help!" Maria shrieked, but no one answered. The collectors tossed Elora into the SUV, slamming the door shut. As they sped away, Elora caught a glimpse of her family's despairing faces.
The drive seemed endless, nearly an hour of twisting roads and darkness. Finally, the SUVs screeched to a halt. Elora was dragged out, her legs trembling. A dimly lit warehouse loomed before her. "Welcome, Elora," a collector sneered, shoving her forward. Inside, the air reeked of decay. Elora stumbled, her eyes adjusting slowly. A figure emerged from the shadows. "Marcus?" Elora's voice trembled. Marcus, the ruthless businessman, smiled, "Surprised?" Marcus chuckled. "You're now my property, Elora." Elora's mind reeled. How did Marcus fit into this? "You see, Elora, your father's debts are now mine," Marcus explained, his eyes glinting. "You're going to make me pay?" Elora spat. Marcus laughed. "Oh, no. You'll be paying in other ways." Elora's heart sank. "What do you want from me?" Elora demanded.Marcus leaned in, his breath cold,"You have always been so resentful about me, but you're mine now, you will do whatever I say whenever I say. You're mine now." Elora's defiance flared. "Never." Marcus's smile widened. "We'll see about that."
