Turner and Frank bracketed the man in the white smock like a pair of gigantic stone monoliths. Big men. With wide shoulders filled with muscles and menacing intent. That menacing intent very palatable for the much smaller man standing between the two. He could see it in their eyes. In the way their jaws were set. Especially in the big man who looked distinctly like an old movie star he used to watch as a kid on his grandmother’s TV back when grandma was the designated after school babysitter. The man’s gun metal gray eyes were filled with anger. A controlled anger that nevertheless was straining to break out. God help the person who would receive this anger when it came out. The other homicide detective was just as impressive. A gigantic presence of looming power crackling with intensity.
