Viktoria POV
“Are you out of your mind?" Lucille hisses in anger, jerking me out of my own shock.
Marco just used an Alpha's edict to chain me to himself. He just took my autonomy as a member of this pack and shackled me to himself, in the Alpha house.
“No,” I snap, shaking my head. “You can’t do that! You can’t make me stay!”
Lucille turns her red face at me. “You shut up!" she says, and to Marco: "Don't do it!”
But Marco isn't even looking at her. Or anyone else. He is staring at me, as if daring me to fight it. Kyra looks like she’s about to faint. She and Lucille both stare at Marco as if he’s lost his mind.
Lucille barks again, “Marco, are you out of your mind?”
Clearly he is. Unflinching, he says, “No. On the contrary, this is the first right thing I’ve done in a long time.”
