Viktoria POV Exhausted, I stop walking. My breath comes out in shallow bursts, my vision swimming with tears. I wipe my eyes with shaky hands, only to see makeup smudges on the back of my hands. Take a moment, Viktoria. You're confused. “Kaden?” I mutter at the road stretched out like a black thread. It’s true. I can’t walk all the way back. Not like this. Not in my Mary Jane shoes. My phone is in my bag back at school.
