The Humans Which Ascended

"You think your plan will work? I mean, it's a bold move. Besides, you said that you people have been watching earth for like...forever. So they are probably right about the human's next move. I mean, we either worship a higher power or decide to bend it to our knees. And your side doesn't seem to be the worshipping kind" Raghav said and leaned back. He was still feeling kind of dizzy, given the amount of alcohol that was flowing in Thomas's system. But he knew that this meeting was crucial in setting him up as a strong leader, so he held on. "Nothing is ever guaranteed. And it is true that we have been watching humans for a long time now, but they have shattered our assumptions time and again, and that alone will be a sufficient reason for my people to consider changing their minds. There is work to be done, and risks to be taken. So we should start right away, because, for the first time, time is not on Thomas's side." Pinky said. "Clever, I like that. But I suggest you know your place. Never tell me what to do." Raghav said, staring straight into Pinky's eyes. He badly wanted to establish his authority over someone. It had been a long time since he last did that. "Understood," Pinky said, without her expressions changing. "So, tell me about Mars. How did you people become so tasteless and s**t? I mean, shared consciousness? That had got to be the most boring thing ever. There is no excitement." Raghav said and scoffed. "Yes, you are right. There is no excitement or happiness. But that also means that there is no sadness, no jealousy, no hate, no lust, and no other feelings that can destroy a civilization. All we feel is calmness. Humans are on the brink of extinction because they let feelings get in the way of their progression as a species. They divide among themselves and kill one another for some 'pride' that they think they exhibit. You don't know this, but we used to live on Earth once." Pinky said with a plain face. "You did?!" Raghav exclaimed. "Yes, we did. We used to be just like humans. In fact, we WERE humans at a point in time. We moved away to Mars to terraform it and make a planet of our own, just like the beings from Enceladus made Earth. And after the move was complete and the higher beings reset the Earth with one more mass extinction, we saw something astonishing. A species with our striking resemblance evolved again. And right on that day, we knew they were going to pose a threat to us.  SO we decided to wipe them before they became too vast to control. But there was a problem." Pinky said. "Ah yes, your makers didn't think it was a good idea," Raghav said and smiled. "Yes, making new beings and destroying planets was a sport for them. They wouldn't let anyone mess with their plans. And they seemed to take a particular interest in this new species called 'human'. They even went down to live with them and tried to educate them in their ways. But before long, they knew that humans were not balanced. They felt in excess, and that rang an alarm. Species that prefer feeling over thinking cannot be trusted, and so they backed away to their moon. This was all a game to them, and it had just become more interesting. They wanted to see what this curious civilization had in store. After all, it would take billions of years of evolution for humans to reach their level. But it wouldn't take that much time for them to be able to contest us. So we decided to become stronger by uniting all of us. We made hubs for sharing all of our bodies in a singularity. This would essentially kill our emotions, but it would ensure the survival of our species against humans. What we didn't expect was that humans would also unite when their civilization faced extinction." Pinky said. "Well, that's heavy," Raghav said and let out a cold sigh. As fermi once said- "Where are they?", well, maybe they are out there in the sky, watching us with a keen eye.
