It Begins

The guerillas knew that if they were to fight in hiding, sooner or later they would be found and would be taken care of. So instead of waiting for their impending doom, they decided to do something so brave and crazy, that the enemy would never suspect. They were going to attack! Despite their low numbers compared to Thomas’ hunter unit, they were pretty sure they could win with the element of surprise. But they didn’t know about Thomas and his capabilities, so naturally, they didn’t realize that instead of fighting death, they were walking straight into a s*******r. Thomas came out with his AK-47 held high. As soon as he spotted the jeep with crying hostiles speeding towards him, he pointed the rifle and shot an instant shot. The bullet wheezed past the friendlies and made its way through the jeep’s windshield, landing straight into the driver’s head. His head launched backward with the impact, but it was still tied to the neck, so it came back, landing straight on the horn. The car beeped as the wheel turned radically, toppling the jeep over. The other ones inside it screamed with terror and were ultimately crushed under the sheer weight of the inverted jeep. The survivors were taken care of by Thomas’ trainees. Thomas made his way straight to the front door without wearing any protection. Raghav advised him again and again not to do this, but Thomas knew himself too well. He had been trying to die for a long time now and no one could give him that gift. So now when he wanted to live, no one could even touch him. “Sniper!” Thomas yelled and got behind cover. He had just seen a flash in the mountain and one of his soldiers dropped. He called up one of the trainees, told him to take the sniper out, but the latter ended up with a bullet in his eye. So Thomas had to take up the rifle. As he scoped in through the car’s broken window, he smiled. He barely had any visibility, and he was sure that another one wasn’t considering it either. He held his breath for a second and exhaled as he pulled the trigger. The bullet missed its mark but still managed to wound the sniper. It went inside the shoulder joint, making him useless as a sniper. Thomas was disappointed in his aim but ultimately decided to blame it upon the rifle. As Thomas walked around the camp and made their way to the front gate, bodies piled up. He was wearing his golden mask, so enemies saw him from far away and some even tried to run, but they didn’t get very far. Thomas threw away the AK and took out his desert eagle (pistol). The guerillas had failed terribly at the hand of one man and one man only, and the last remaining team was fleeing the scene of their disrespect in a helicopter. Thomas was trying to make sure that there were no survivors to tell the tale. As Gabriel peeked out of the helicopter doors from around fifty feet above ground level, his head met with a golden bullet. His body swung to and fro before falling out of the gigantic machine, crushing head first on the ground. Azak tried to catch him but ultimately came out with his rifle, aiming at the golden man. He didn’t fire, because he felt the quantum entanglement in the air. Thomas threw down the pistol and took his mask off. “I always knew it was you!” Azak said, not surprised in the least. Olivia however, had a heart attack as soon as she learned the fact that Thomas wasn’t dead. Even worse, he was fighting against them. “I hoped you to be that smart. What happened Azak? I thought you were one of the most loyal ones. I respected you most out of all other agents because of that, and now nothing but hate for you coarsens through my heart.” Thomas asked. “This is a dangerous game we are playing, Tommy. And it is only a matter of time before we end up destroying the whole fabric of space-time. And I cannot let that happen, you know it.” Azak said. “You know pretty well that what begins does not end so soon. We HAVE traveled through time, and as much as you try to hide it, you know too that this can never be forgotten. So instead of leaving everything to chaos, we have to regulate it. And we need people like you and me to do it.” Thomas said, making his point. “No Thomas, you are wrong. And deep inside your heart, you know it too. The agency is barely twenty years old in earth time, and it is only a matter of time before some sick bastard becomes the director, either selling the secrets to terrorists or blowing off our cover. This interdimensional police force s**t has to stop right away, or we will wipe out all existence as it is.” Azak countered. “You used to be so smart my friend. Can you not see? You think you are fighting selflessly for a pure cause, but your own leader leads you for selfish reasons. Tell me, did he not flee the agency because he fell in love? And now he KNOWS that however hard he tries, he will get f****d someday by the agents hunting him. So instead of giving up on his f*****g stupid piece of flesh girl, he decided to turn on the very agency that helped him find the girl in the first place. Look at me Azak! I am not a fool, I have killed my love with my bare hands to keep my honor high. So you are NOT the one to lecture me on this!” Thomas yelled. “Join us Thomas, and we will free the agency together,” Azak said. “I AM freeing the agency, freeing it from people like you who want to wipe out every single agent. But you know that as long as I am alive, you will never get your hands on the White Feather’s throat!” Thomas said and took the pistol up again. “Very well, old friend. It was good to see you after all these decades.” Azak said, lowering his rifle barrel. And right at that moment, the fate of both of them was sealed. This war was going to result in not one, but both of them. Olivia jumped in front of Azak and took a shot right at Thomas’ heart with her dragon egg sniper rifle. The shot didn’t miss by even an inch. Thomas was launched back into the air and fell on his back. As Olivia watched at Thomas’ body with stone-cold eyes, Azak let out a cold breath. “So long, old friend,” Azak said, taking back his seat on the helicopter. On the ground, the soldiers gathered around as every breath of the man lying on the ground cursed his enemies. His shirt was opened, and right over the spot where his heart was supposed to be, he was found to be hiding a book, or rather a journal of some sort. The full metal jacket bullet was turned into a tin foil, but the book didn’t seem to take any damage. As soon as the book was lifted from his purple chest, he groaned and gripped the hand of the soldier with a titan’s strength. The shattered man was alive, and triggered! "Let's end this, Raghav!" Thomas said and tore through the barrier of his mind, back into the real world. He looked at Pinky, who thought he was just sleeping.
