The disbelief in me as I held her was real. I had never been at this place in my life, when the mere thought of having somebody close and safe to you made me feel happy like no other thing ever could. When I let her go hesitantly, I still kept one of my hands resting on her cheek and bent ahead to kiss her forehead, being careful of not touching any of her bandages or wounds, as I wiped away the remaining of the tears that had trickled down her cheek earlier.
