Feeling the tingles of Jenson crashing into my body and holding me tight brought me out of the daze I seemed to be in. After I had found my way around the rubble and out of the dining room, I bumped into Maddie and explained what had happened. She cried with relief and I could tell in her eyes she had waited for this for such a long time.
I asked her to come with me and that I was sure we could find her family or at the very least give her a place to stay while she figured her life out. She has never known freedom or how to live and on some level I could relate to her.
