Chapter 4

My head was aching terribly as I tried to open my eyes. Where was I?

When my eyes finally opened properly, I looked around and saw that I was no longer in the ugly room, but in was befitting for royalty. The bed was soft and everything looked like it fell from heaven, but what was I doing here. I turned my head to the other side of the room and let out a small gasp when I saw the CEO sitting on a chair with his eyes closed. Was he sleeping? Or was he unconscious? I had no idea what must have happened the night before.

I quietly uncovered myself with the blanket that was covering me and I picked my almost tattered shoe from the floor and started tiptoeing as quietly as I could. I was making some progress but immediately I picked up the pace, even though it was as quiet as I could, I didn't go as far as reaching the door when his eyes immediately shot open and he looked at me.

"Where do you think you're going to?" His voice was cold, and I immediately froze on the spot.

“No where, I just..." I tried to speak but he cut me off

"You know you can't possibly leave with my child, in you" he said, and I looked at him in confusion, but he continued speaking. "If I remember correctly, that would be treason and the penalty for that is immediate death on the first sighting, so it's your choice to make"

What was he talking about? His child? I touched my stomach to make sure that I had not suddenly developed a baby bump that somehow belonged to him.

"I'm sorry, but what do you mean by if I leave, I leave with your child? Did we..?" I looked at the bed and bed at him. Was it possible that he had slept with me while I was unconscious and gotten me pregnant? I was really trying to wrap my head around what he was saying, but it was not making any sense and instead of giving me an answer he was silent until he stood up from the chair he was sitting in and picked up a document from the table and threw it at me. It only missed hitting my face by a few meters and I watched the papers scatter all over the floor.

'' Sorry about that. Seems like we'd have to work on your reflex actions too.''

To my surprise he helped me pick up the scattered papers then sat me down.

"Those are some very important documents that you should go through and contained in them are also documents from the hospital where your grandmother is," he paused, as if he was letting what he had said sink into my brain first, before he continued "There are images there of your family. I promised that I would take care of the needs of your grandmother and sister as long as you do everything that I asked you to do and that is what I have done. So, as long as you continue to be a good girl and give me what I want the most in life, they will continue to receive all the good things in life"

Confused, I asked "What is this thing that you want the most in life?"

"I want children. You have to give me as many children as you can," His words shocked me so I immediately started flipping through the pages of the document and just like he said, there were pictures of Eunice and my grandma in a very expensive looking hospital and grandma was even smiling in one of the pictures even though her eyes looked sad. She was probably wondering where I was. I flipped to the next page and stopped in my tracks. I was looking at a wedding certificate that had my name on it and that of the CEO. His name was Axel and somehow my fingerprint signature was already on it signifying that I had authorized the wedding and I knew very well that I had done no such thing or agreed to the outrageous terms and conditions that I was seeing on the pages of the document. He must have noticed my bewilderment, and he came to my rescue with an explanation,

"You already gave your whole life to me, did you not?" He asked, and I wanted to say no, but immediately remembered when I had been begging him to take my life as long as he took care of my family. I had actually given my life to him.

"Remember?" He asked again and I nodded my head slowly.

"Good. Since you already did that, a wedding certificate was drafted and your fingerprint put in it because you are already mine. Body and soul, just like the Goddess made it." Then he walked out.

Immediately, he left, and the realization hit me hard in the face. Unlike every other situation that I've found myself in, there was no way out of this one. I was stuck there with Axel for as long as he wanted me to be. I used my hand to locate the bed and I fell on it helplessly. I was alone in this. Totally alone.

After getting myself together for a little while, I finally opened the document and I started from the beginning to read the document one after the other, line by line and by the time I was done my whatever was connecting my jaw to my face went loose.
