Chapter 5

Vivian. Each line got worse from the last one, and I couldn't believe that this was going to be my life. One of the rules termed me as his temporary wife or rather his temporary baby-making machine because that was only what he wanted me for. To give him babies. I was looking for anywhere there was a loophole in the contract but with my chances of escape already slim to none, whoever wrote the contract paid attention to details closely. I was to always stay indoors and never leave the house, no matter where I wanted to go, and whenever he wanted to have me, I was expected to give myself to him without complaint and I didn't like that part at all, but who was I to complain? To my mate at that. I only had the option of accepting my fate. Another rule stated that I was not to go and see my grandmother and my sister without permission from him and I couldn't even do as little as call them to know how they were. That particular one made me scoff. His rules were just a bunch of stupid things that would make him have control of me and everything that involved me. I quickly realized that his rule of keeping me in confinement would stop my mission of looking for the real person who had poisoned that woman and framed me because I needed to know who it was and what I had done to the person to warrant such hatred, but I couldn't do that because it was clearly stated in the document that I was going to be punished if I even thought about leaving the house, so there was nothing I could do except to surrender to my fate. In days, my stomach soon started to show, and I also started having morning sickness and the other usual signs of pregnancy. My life in the mansion was very simple because I was chained to do the same exact thing every day. Every morning, a doctor would come into my room and perform a scan to check up on the baby and me, and he would do it all without ever saying a word to me, only the usual greeting that he mumbled sometimes. The house was always so lonely, except for when the maids brought my food to me, and tried to engage in conversation with them. But after about two weeks of living like that, I noticed that Axel, suddenly started staying in the house with me, and initially, I thought that maybe he just wanted to stay close to the child I was carrying, but soon I heard from one of the maids, that it was because he had brought a woman named Elizabeth who was very sick into the house so he was only there for her. I felt bad when I heard it, but I didn't know what I had expected. One day I was in my room just resting my head when my door opened and in came a beautiful woman who I didn't need anyone to tell me that she was the woman that the maid was talking about, but she looked very healthy, and I guessed that she must have recovered rather quickly which was a good thing., I smiled once our eyes met each other, happy that finally, I might actually have someone to talk to other than the maids, "Hey, you must be the Elizabeth that everyone's been talking about. I hope that you are fully recovered now?" I asked and was surprised when she gave me a scornful look. "So you have been talking about me with your little minions that call themselves the servants of this house?" She said, looking at me from head to toe with her face scrunched up in disgust. "Oh no. That's not what I meant. They only mentioned your arrival and the state you were in when you were brought in. That's all. We mean no harm at all," I smiled nervously, trying to make her understand that I had no bad intentions towards her, but she was not letting up her stand. "You're the woman carrying Axel's child, right?" She asked again with an attitude that did not sit right with me and I nodded, "I am. Is there a chance that you are also here in order to give him children too," I asked, and she burst into a very humiliating laughter that made me turn my head away from her. "Of course not. So I look like I am in a class close to you? Don't you dare ask me that question ever again, do you hear me?" I nodded my head, already seeing that she was not one that I could possibly be friends with. "Anyway, I was bored and decided to come to see what you looked like, and you didn't even meet the expectations Axel had for the others. I expected better," she paused, and I felt her gaze on me for the longest time " What's the name again?" "My name is Vivian," I answered, my voice barely above a whisper and she scoffed. "An ugly name, too. You must have offended the Goddess, someone, for you to have such a pathetic name and a pathetic life. Anyway, I guess I'll be seeing you around because I plan on being here for a while," she licked her lips at me before turning away and walking out the door. Another hater added to my life.
