Chapter 15

1025 Words
Axel's POV Throughout the journey back to the hospital, I hoped that she was going to forgive me for saying all that I had said to the doctor. I honestly didn't know what came over me. It was just that I wanted this baby badly and hearing that it was at the risk of dying, brought forth something in me that took away my sense of reasoning because if the baby was at risk and Vivian wasn't, the solution would be to simply get her pregnant again. I was actually supposed to have been glad that it was the baby and not her but here I was, going back to apologize for my insensitivity. I alighted from the car even before the driver could park well and ran into the office, "Where is she?" I asked the nurses and they both exchanged a glance at my sense of urgency. I looked around the hospital and without waiting for them to respond, I rushed into the room that she had been in but she was nowhere to be found. The bad was empty. I took a few seconds to take the empty room in and I hoped that the situation was that shw had been transferred to another room maybe. "Excuse me sir" i turned around and it was the doctor "Where is she?" I pointed into the room and he shook his head, probably baffled at my sudden act "She has already been discharged and sent out of the hospital premises" he said and I had to stop myself from dragging him by the collar because even though I was angry that she was discharged so fast, I really couldn't say anything because I was the cause of the problem in the first place. I walked out the room and back to the reception area, "What direction did she take?" I asked one of the nurses and she shrugged her shoulder. She didn't know. Nobody knew and I was starting to get frustrated. I turned to one of my men, "We're going to have to search the whole area. She's pregnant and in pains, she wouldn't have gone far" The search didn't take a long time because the streets surrounding the hospital was pretty much straight and she didn't have alleys or anything but yet she was no where to be found. Had she somehow gotten into trouble again? I doubted it but if she was not here then it was a possibility. "We've searched the whole area but we didn't catch any glimpse of her" one of the men reported back. I didn't know what to do. I really wanted to find her and tell her that all I had said in the hospital room was just a result of my anger and I had not meant them one but but it was too late because she had disappeared into thin air. I stood there for a long while, contemplating on what to do before I finally turned around and walked back to the car. I had made a terrible mistake. The journey back home was filmed with me being angry at myself for letting my anger get the most part of me. I shouldn't have done what I did at all and I was certain that the guilt was going to follow me until I found her. That was if I ever did. I had been too harsh on her even when I had just wanted to hold her in my arms most of the time. The driver parked the car in the compound and before I could open the car door, Elizabeth had already run to do it from inside the house, "Oh honey, welcome back. Did you find the girl?" She asked immediately and I sighed internally. I wasn't really ready to answer all her questions and I didn't need to because she quickly caught on by the look on my face. "Oh you didn't but why do you look so stressed" she frowned, trying to cup my chin in her hands but I pushed her hand off and she frowned "She brought this upon herself remember? So why are you behaving this way?" I didn't answer her question, instead I pushed passed her and entered the house and even though I didn't get to see it, I knew she had an annoyed look on her face. The rest of the door had me in a terrible mood and I was thinking of how I was going to find her. The doctor and nurses had said that they had no clue what direction she had taken. Where they lying to me? But then what reason did they have to lie? If anything they would have helped me find her because that meant that I was going to be paying them more money for her treatment. The door to my room opened and Elizabeth walked in "Your dinner is ready. You haven't eaten anything since you returned from looking for that girl" she scoffed and I took a deep breath before turning to face her "Her name is Vivian, not 'that girl' okay?" I finally addressed the way she always referred to Vivian. She was quiet for a minute before she let out a mean chuckle "And since when did you start caring about the way I referred to her. She is just some baby slave after all" she said and I stomped my feet on the floor with anger "Enough!" I shouted at her and watched as she flinched and took a step back when I suddenly stood up from the bed "You will not say any mean thing about my mate as from today. Do you understand me?" I raised a finger at her and she shook her head as if in disbelief but didn't say anything else. The clock ticking was the only thing audible as we stood in that position for a long time before she cleared her throat and whispered, "You should come and eat something. Your food is getting cold" I sighed deeply and replied "I'm not hungry" then walked out the room, leaving her bewildered.
