“Alpha… one more thing.” Darion’s voice faltered as though his throat had locked up. His eyes flicked nervously from the floor to Alpha Kaelion’s face, but even then, he couldn’t hold the King’s gaze for more than a second. Kaelion’s expression hardened. “Say it.” His voice was calm, but the undercurrent of command rolled through the room like thunderclouds ready to break. Darion swallowed, panic slipping into his voice. “This one… it feels suspicious. But I…I don’t think you’ll like it.” Kaelion leaned forward in his chair, sharp silver eyes boring into his Beta. “Go ahead.” Darion hesitated, then blurted it out like ripping off a bandage. “Ryker started lecturing at the academy.
