conundrum (first part)

First meeting or not?

"Meeting John wasn't the typical love at first sight. Prior to their first official meeting, Bolu thought she'd seen his face before, perhaps at a gas station or along her daily route, since he lived in her area. She recalled that he'd often greet her when she was heading home from school, and she'd respond when in a good mood, which was usually after a long day of classes. The thought of a warm shower and home-cooked meal always lifted her spirits, and she looked forward to unwinding after a busy day.

"Bolu had never lacked admirers, but meeting John struck a chord in her otherwise reserved heart. One evening, as she returned from a business delivery, he greeted her with a cheerful "Welcome, good evening." She responded with a smile, "Thanks, good evening." As she walked further, she almost forgot about the stranger who'd become a familiar presence. Suddenly, she sensed him beside her and guessed he'd turned back to catch up. The awareness of his presence sparked a moment of anticipation, and she wondered what he might say.

"After a brief pause, John summoned the courage to strike up a conversation, which brought a subtle smile to Bolu's face. Though he'd taken his time to speak, both were aware of the other's presence, the silence between them building a sense of connection. As they began talking, Bolu found herself feeling more at ease, enjoying the gentle rhythm of their conversation. The ease with which they conversed surprised her, and she couldn't help but feel drawn to John's warm and friendly demeanor."
