Trapped into Love

Chapter 17

Sabrina Meyers (POV)

Raine's pregnancy has been dominating the news for the past five days now. She's been spreading the news through her social media accounts and even tagged me for it. She even said in one of her interviews that Caden, was just following his heart and that is her. She even said that Caden was just forced to marry me because of a contract. She used their past to make story against me. And she succeeded with that. A lot of people throw hates towards me.

This past five days, I've been receiving much hate and mean comments. They even accused me of being a witch and a b***h for using my family's power just to marry Caden. Some called me a desperate woman.

A lot of people judge me for what they think I've done to Raine and Caden's love story. I wasn't expecting that one day, I will be a villain in someone's story.

Caden on the other hand tries his best to invalidate and defend me from all the accusation but that even adds up with the controversy and the heat. Some people even commented that I feed something to Caden that made him side me.

"Hey, I thought having you with us today will lessen the weight you are carrying on your shoulder," says Ava as she looks at me in the eyes.

"Can you forget everything for a while and just chill with us?" adds Ema who is sitting beside Ava just across where I am sitting.

We are currently at our favorite restaurant. I wasn't into it but my parents told me to go out and chill. "How can I even forget everything if people are looking at me like I'm a demon who killed a million people, I don't even have any fault in here. I'm the victim," I said in a soft voice as tears fell down my cheeks. How could people judge so easily without even knowing what is really happening. They just heard one side of the story and now they're giving judgements.

"This will soon pass. Believe me. Truth will be unearthed," says Ava. Her eyes show so much sympathy towards me. Even Ema can't hide the emotions in her eyes.

"When? When will this end? When our lives will be destroyed?" I asked. I'm not really thinking about the wealth I'll possibly lose because of this but I'm more concerned about my unborn baby. The baby will be affected and will bear all the pain.

"Why don't you talk to Caden and try to fix everything between the two of you. Maybe if you talk, things will be cleared," says Ema.

I stared at her. I really cannot talk with Caden right now. Since the day I saw him kissing Raine at his office, I never talked to him. I didn't step in his house. I went straight to my parents' place. That day, I cried a lot in my mother's shoulder. And I'm very thankful because she's been there for me until I gained my composure and confidence back.

Since that day, Caden has been trying his best to talk to me but I just ignore him. The only person who face him are my parents.

"I really don't know if I can talk to him now that this is happening and still a hot issue," I replied.

"Why not talk to him and face the issue together. If you will let your heart be hard to him, he can put a barrier between you. Are you not afraid of that?" asks Ema.

I looked at her in the eyes. She has a point but I have this feeling that if I allow him to be part of me again, he can always do what he did. Meeting other woman behind me.

"Ema's right Sab. You need to talk to Caden for your own good."

"I don't know. I really don't. I want him to fix his issue with Raine. I want him to prove to everyone that Raine is spreading lies," I responded.

Both Ava and Ema nodded in response. I felt a sudden pain on my stomach. I excused myself to them and headed towards the comfort room. I was too lucky because no one is inside the comfort room.

Just like that, I throwed up. All the things I've eaten came out. After I'm done, I went to the sink and wash my mouth. I turned around and came face to face with the person I hate to see. "Raine," I said in shock.

"Hello Sabrina," she said as she smiled at me mockingly. "How's the feeling of being hate by everyone around you darling," she added that made me want to wring her neck.

"Why can't you just leave me alone Raine. You have Caden already, why can't you just leave," I said to which she laughed. My brows furrowed.

"Sabrina, Sabrina. I'll not stop doing this to you unless Caden will come back me completely. I'll never stop putting you down until Caden will be mine again," she said. "And this baby of ours, this will be the proof that I'm telling the truth," she added. I shake my head.

"You really are a b***h Raine. You're more of a monster than a human being," I said. She tried to slap me but thanks to my reflexes, I was able to stop her hand. I caught it on time. And without even thinking, I slap her hard. She wasn't expecting that from me at all.

"You caused me so much pain, Raine. If you won't stop your stupid act, I'll make sure that you'll regret everything you did," I said to her. I didn't wait for her to say something and just walk away. I'm already on the comfort room's entrance when she called for my name.

"Hey, I just want to give you this," she said as she gives me the envelope. I look at the envelope. "This is the evidence that I'm really pregnant and I'm telling the truth," she said.

I reach for the envelope and leave. I walk towards my friends as fast as I can. "Let's get out of here," I said to Ema and Ava once I'm standing in front of them.

"I guess so," says Ema looking behind me. I don't need to glance at the person she's staring behind me. I know it's Raine.

Ava and Ema stands up from their seat and walk beside me as we head outside the restaurant. I was too quite when we entered the car. After my encounter with Raine, all the excitement and cheerfulness that I still have vanished. The only thing that I feel now is anger and annoyance especially now that the evidence of Caden, cheating on me is in my hand.

Yes, I'm still holding it without making an effort to open it. I'll just give it to Caden once I have the confidence to talk to him.

I leaned on the car door and let Ema drive us. "Where are we going next?" asks Ava.

"Let's go home. I'm tired," I replied. I'm really tired now. I'm thinking about my baby's safety. If I let all of this get into me, there's a possibility that the baby will be affected. And I'm also thinking about Ava's new born baby. She left her baby just to give time for me.

"Okay, we will first drop you home," says Ema as she looks at me at the mirror.

"Thank you and I'm sorry. I really can't handle this emotion right now," I replied to which the two just nodded and smiled in response.

I closed my eyes and just let all the emotions envelops me. I let my tears down. I didn't even bother to wipe them off and just waited for it to be dried.

"We are here," says Ema that made me open my eyes.

I look out. We are already in front of my parents' house. "Thank you. I'll just see you next day or?" I replied.

"Let's see if I still have time tomorrow," says Ema.

"Me too. Luke and I planned to go out with our baby," says Ava.

"Okay, see you next time," I said as I forced a smile. Ema and Ava give me a smile before I climbed out the car. They give me a flying kiss before Ema drive off the street.

I heaved a deep sigh as I watch the car to be out of sight. I entered the house and was surprised to see Caden at the living room. "Sabrina," he said.

I stared at him and studied his face. His eyes are too lonely. I can point it out that he hadn't have a good sleep. "Caden," I said letting his name just rolled out my tongue.

"Can I have a talk with you?" he said to which I nodded.

"Wait for me here. I will just go and change," I replied before leaving him. Maybe Ema is right. Talking to him will clear things out.

After I change, I went to see him. I ushered him towards the back of the house. "Here, Raine gave that to me a while ago," I said.

He reaches out for the envelope I'm giving him. I watch as he opened it up. His brows furrowed as he saw what is on the envelope. "This are all related to her pregnancy," he said as he gives it to me. He seems to be calm about what is in the envelope.

I take a look at it. Yes, it's all about her pregnancy. I tried to look at the paper until my eyes landed at a particular thing. Dr. Carise Anderson.

The name is very much familiar. "Seems like the doctors name is familiar," I whispered but Caden still heard it.

"You know the doctor?" he asked making me look up at him.

"Yes. It's quite familiar," I replied.

"Can you try to remember where you heard the name," Caden said.

I tried to remember where I heard the name and all of a sudden, Ava came into my mind. Yes, Carise Anderson is also Ava's doctor. What a coincidence. "Come with me," I said.

Caden looked at me with full curiosity. "Why?" he asked.

"It's time to know the truth," I replied.

"Even you don't believe what's written in it?" asks Caden to which I nodded.

"I don't know. I just have this feeling that Raine is not making any sense. Something is not good in here," I replied making him nod."Come on, let's go and don't ask me anymore question," I added.

Caden nodded and followed me out. I know where Dr. Carise office is. I once was there when Ava asked me to accompany her.After seeing her name in the paper, I had the feeling that something is going on.

We immediately climbed into Caden's car. Once he noticed that I'm done with putting the seat belt, he drives off the busy street. "Do you want me to play a music?" he asked, killing the silence in the air.

"No thanks. I just want to have a silent ride," I responded before leaning on the door window. If what I have in mind is right, then Raine needs to talk to the public again and tell everyone the truth. If she receive hate from her truth, I don't care anymore. She needs to face the consequences of her action.

But of course, I'm still not sure about it. I still need the comfirmatiom from doctor Carise.

While we are on our way, Caden asks me about the way to Dr Carise's office. Once we are finally parked in front of the hospital Caden asked me if I'm ready to go out.

I heaved a deep sigh before I climbed out of Cadens car. We are now standing in front of the hospital where Dr. Carise Anderson is working.

While we are on our way to this place, I was trying to remember, very well, why Dr. Carise is quite familiar. And to my surprise, everything just came back to my mind.

Yesterday, we went to Ava's house and talk to her about Dr. Anderson and she told me something that really caught my interest. Dr. Anderson is a doctor who can manipulate things. It's not because he is just a good doctor but because of the influence his family have.

After we talked to Ava, we tried to pay a visit for doctor Anderson but she was not in her office and according her secretary, she was out. She's attending to some important matter.

Today, we came back to this hospital to talk to her. I really have this kind of feeling that tells me that there is something wrong with Raine's claim of pregnancy. She's just a good actress.

"It's okay if you chose to stay here. I can go inside alone," he said to which I shook my head. I'll not let Caden go in alone. I don't want to trust anyone just like that. Even I don't trust him. If Raine is telling the truth, then Caden can ask help from Dr. Carise to manipulate the result again. The cycle of lies will just continue.

"We will go inside together," I replied as I grabbed his hands and hold it tighter.

Yesterday, Caden tried to talk me but I just ignored him and went to Ava's place. I thought he immediately leave but my parents told me that he talked to them. He told everything to my parents. He explained all the photos that was sent to me to my parents. According to him, all those were all plotted by Raine. His only fault is to believe in her and give his trust to her again. That caught him in a trap that Raine prepared for him. That made me want to believe in him but I still want to know the truth to trust him again.

I looked up at Caden and he nodded at me. We walked inside the hospital while holding hands. Some nurses and other patients were looking at us while we passed by them. I know, by the time I entered inside with Caden behind me, those people who easily judge me are saying ill words as we passed by. I can see it in their eyes. They really think that I stole Caden from Raine but the fact is, Raine want's to have Caden all by herself. And her way of doing it is to destroy me and my reputation.

Caden knocked at the office door of doctor Anderson. After two knocks, Anderson's secretary opened the door for us. She let us in. Dr. Anderson's eyes widened as soon as she saw us in.

"Good morning Doctor Anderson," I greeted her. She just smiled and motioned us to sit on the chair just across her.

"What is the visit all about?" she asked as she wears a sweet smile.

Caden give her the envelope he has been holding on his other hand. Dr. Anderson reach out for it. I watch as she opened the envelope and see what is inside. She smiled as she saw what's in.

I almost shouted at her because of that. Why would she just smile after seeing those? "I wasn't expecting this visit from the two of you," she said as she looks at us.

"We know. We can easily tell it by just staring at those eyes," replied Caden.

Dr. Anderson put her hands on top of the table and clasped her hands. "Let's get straight to the point. What do you want to know?" she asked. Caden and I stared at each other. I nodded at him, giving him the privilege to speak for the both of us.

"Are those papers even real?" asks Caden.

Carise laughed. That was unexpected from a doctor like her. "I really don't know how Raine got all of this," she replied making me furrow my brows.

"What do you mean?" I asked out of curiosity.

"I never give these papers to her. Raine is really too desperate to have Caden back. I didn't know that she uses my name as a proof of her own plans," she said. I looked at Caden who just stared at me with unknown emotions in her eyes.

I was really curious by the way Carise say those words, "What do you mean by that?" I asked again.

Carise smiled. "I'm actually Raine's cousin. And she can always go to my room or my office at home whenever she wants."

I can't say that I'm not surprised with what Carise just said. Carise and Raine's relationship never crosses my mind. "Raine told me about her plan but I wasn't expecting that pregnancy will be involved. She even crosses her boundary and entered my office without my permission. These papers says nothing. It was just all a prop and I'm not aware of it."

"But why did you not clarify everything to the public, she already did destroy our image," says Caden. Basing from his tone, I can clearly say that he is trying to control his anger.

Carise just shook her head. "Honestly, this is my first time to see these paper. As I was saying, she can entered my office and just did everything she wants. If you didn't come, I wouldn't know what she did," she replied. I can see sincerity in her eyes.

Caden and I look at each other. I really can't expect that Raine can do such thing. She's the one using her family's influence to do whatever she wants. Every word that she used to describe me to destroy my image best describes her.

"Anyway, I need to attend to my patient's needs. I'll talk to Raine and tell her to stop with all her stupidity. If I need to talk to the public to clean your name and give Raine a taste of what she did, I'll do it. I promise, I'm not like her. I've studied for how many years and I also don't like to destroy my image because of my cousin's stupid acts," says Dr . Carise.

"I just want to confirm, Dr. Anderson, is Raine really pregnant or not?" Caden asked after a long silence from him.

"To give you peace of mind, I'll tell you that Raine is not really pregnant. She's just using these piece paper she stole from my office to trap you in her game," she said. That made me breath. All that Raine has been spreading is just all in her mind. I don't even know if she's really a normal person. Only crazy people can do such a thing.

After Carise say those words, she gives us advice and leave. Caden and I happily went out of the hospital building. I really did a right decision. Talking to Caden did help me. And Raine, herself revealed her own dark plan.

"Now, we finally know that she's telling lies under our nose," Caden said when we are finally inside the car.

"And she has done too much damage. She's even using her cousin to run the game. My gosh, I wasn't expecting that," I replied to which Caden nodded. He started the engine and drive off the busy street.

Caden and I decided to pass by the cemetery. We decided to visit her sister. "You know; I really love her. She's been my number one fan," Caden said as he put the flower we bought on top of her sister's grave stone.

"I can see that," I replied.

"Luke," he said mentioning Luke's name.

"What about him?" I asked.

Caden let out a breath. "I've been blaming him for her death. But, all those blames were nonsense," he replied as he smiles.

I took his hand and linked our fingers. "You know; your sister is happy now. All the hate you have for your cousin that you have in your heart is gone," I said.

"Yes. And it's all because of you. If you didn't come into my life, I wouldn't forgive Luke and I would still be that arrogant Caden everyone knows," he replied to which I smiled. "You help me change," he added making me nod.

"You wanted to be a better person for me and for everyone and that made you change. What I wish right now is for you to completely leave your other extracuriccular activities that will destroy you," I replied making him smile. He extended his hands and played with my hair. I just fixed my hair when he puts his hand down.

"I'm just too sad that my sister didn't have a chance to meet you in person," he said.

"Nah, she'll surely love me like you do," I replied and flashes a smile.

We stayed quiet for a moment before Caden faced me. "I'm sorry. Sorry for everything," he said as he cupped my face.

"No, it's me who needs to say sorry. I should have given you a chance and talked to you earlier. We could have fixed everything easily," I said as I touch his palms that cupped my face. "We could have ended the issue earlier and would have lessened the damage," I added.

"It's okay. Now that we both finally know the truth, No one can stop us from being happy."

"I know and I'm happy too. I love you," I replied as a small seed of tear rolled down my cheek.

"I love you Sabrina. I love you and our unborn baby," he said before he leaned down and kissed me. Without any hesitation, I kissed him back. This is the moment that need to be cherished.
