Sabrina Meyers (POV)
A ray from the sun peeked through my window the time I opened my eyes. I rolled over in bed and sat up. I stretched out for a moment before I entangled the sheets from my body.
I dropped my feet on the cold floor, glancing over my alarm clock. It's already past nine. A small smile crept on my lips. Today is going to be one of the best days of my life.
I pushed myself up from the bed and headed towards the bathroom. I take a bath and did the rest of my morning rituals needed to be done. After how many hours, I found myself struggling in my massive closet on which dress should I wear. Yes, a massive closet. It's not actually what I wanted. It's my parents decision to let me have this things. After an hour of choosing, I stick on a black off-the-shoulder dress that ends on my mid-thigh. I paired it with a black hill that made me three inch taller than my usual five feet six inches' height. I put on a minimal make up and tied my hair in a bun. Once I'm done, I give myself one last glance before finding my way out of my room.
"Hey, are you not going to eat for breakfast?" asks my mom who just came out from the kitchen as I was in the last step of the stair.
I walk towards her and kiss her cheeks. "Brunch you mean?" I said as I pulled myself away from her.
"Yeah, breakfast and lunch," she replied rolling her eyes.
"Where's dad?"
"Oh dear, your dad is out for an early meeting," she replied as we headed towards the kitchen.
I pulled myself a chair and settled down. I watch as my mother busied herself making food for me. I told her to stop and I'll do it myself but she insisted. She wants to do it by herself.
She was talking about our family business as I take the food that has been served. "Anyways, how about you and Luke? Don't you have any plan on telling us when is the exact date of your wedding?" she suddenly asks.
"Uh, we'll see. I'm going to give him a visit."
"Great! Tell us the news as immediate as you can!" my mother said making me smile.
Seriously, my parents are my number one fan when it comes to my colorful relationship. They've been supporting me since day one.
Once I'm done, I stayed for a moment and chatted with my mom. "Sab, kiss your fiancé for me," says my mom before I started the engine and drove off the busy street.
It took me almost thirty minutes before I reach my fiancés house. I parked my car at the driveway before climbing out of my car. Without ringing the bell, I invited myself in. My eyes widened as I stepped in. The house is totally in mess. It's not what I expected to see. Luke is too conscious about cleanliness.
"Luke, what's this mess all about?" I shouted hoping that someone would answer me. To my dismay, no one did.
I entered the kitchen only to be dismayed that he is not there. It's unusual. Every Saturday he is in the kitchen preparing for food. He always expect me to come. I walked out from the kitchen and thought of him being in his room crosses my mind.
I climbed up the stairs heading towards his room. After how many steps, I'm finally standing by his room door. I touched the door knob and is about to push it open when I hear someone giggling. I thought it's just me hallucinating but another giggling confirmed it.
I gasped at the thought of a random girl sleeping with Luke at the same bed. "Oh, yeah, I-like that," I hear the girl say. That's when I gained my confidence to open the door. I wanted to confirm what I have in mind.
My jaw literally dropped as I saw my fiancé hovering over a girl. For goodness sake, I'm witnessing him making out with a w***e. They're too busy doing their thing that they didn't notice my presence. I almost puked at the sight of them.
I cleared my throat to have their attention but they're still concentrating on what they're doing. I thought of another thing to get their attention until my eyes landed on the vase just beside me. I took it and without hesitation, I let it land on the floor making a loud thud. "What the f**k, who give- " Luke was not able to continue what he was about to say after seeing me.
His eyes widened as if he had seen a ghost. "Like what you see?" I ask.
"S-sabrina, I thought you're still in Italy?" he replied.
"That's why you prefer to make out with a random woman?"
A moment of silence filled the room. "Cat caught your tongue?"
"Excuse me? I'm not just a random woman!" says the b***h pushing Luke aside. My eyes landed to her and literally widened. I was speechless. I was trembling with anger.
"How could you?" I said as I clenched my fist that gained an annoying smirk from her.
"Oh poor Sabrina," she replied mockingly.
"Look Sabrina, I was just- I was just satisfying myself. I'm a man and you do not give yourself to- "
"Shut up Luke!" anger is raging on me. "That's not enough to cheat on me with - oh my ghad, how could I even say it?" I said as I look at him deadly in the eye.
"With my friend Luke? Friend! How could you cheat on me behind my back?" I added. Yes, it was my friend whom he's sleeping with.
"Well, it's simply because I'm good in bed," answered Ava.
"Shut up Ava!" says Luke.
"What? I'm just telling her the truth," she replied pulling the sheets to cover herself before she leaned on the beds headboard.
"Get out Ava," commands Luke.
"No way! I'll stay, besides she has already caught us after a long time of hiding it."
I furrowed my brows. Long time? How long have been they cheating on me? "How long have you been enjoying and satisfying yourselves? How long? I asked pushing away the tears that is threatening to fall. It's not the time to cry. It's time for confrontation.
Luke averted his gaze towards the window. I looked at Ava to see her smiling at me. "My dear friend, we've been sleeping since the day he asked you to be his girlfriend and I think that was five years ago? Yeah right," she replied.
"Great! That's great. You have been stabbing me all these years. How dare you!" I said pointing a finger towards them. Luke looked at me with guilt but I just give him a glare. How can he show guilt when he has been doing it for a long time with the same b***h.
"I'm done with all of this s**t!" I finally said. That mocking smile of Ava is still visible. Smile that won a battle. Me being me just ignored it and turned on my heels to leave. I was on my second step when I remembered something. I turned to face them again and pulled the ring out of my finger and throw it to Luke who immediately caught it.
"I don't need that damn ring. Just give it to someone who is a back stabber- I mean a w***e like her," I said and gave them a smile. I saw how Ava clenched her fist. She deserved to be called a w***e because she is one of them. She knows the fact that Luke has a girlfriend and it's her friend but she still used her venom.
"By the way Ava, you leave a message informing me that you need money right? I guess, Luke can give you that. He has a lot of it, right Luke? I guess he really deserves a gold digger in his life," I said as I give Ava a smirk causing her to scowl at me before turning on my heel and finally leave the room.
Fresh tears started to fall down my cheeks as I find my way out of the house. I ran towards my car and immediately drive off the street. My tears are not helping me at all as I drive faster.
After driving for almost an hour without knowing where to go, I find myself parking my car nearby a park. I leaned over the steering wheel and cry. I let my emotion overcome me. The truth that my friend and my fiancé cheated behind my back really pained me.
I've been loyal to Luke and good to my friend Ava but this is what they give in return. Pain. Only pain. In just a swift, both those important people in my life broke my trust.
I stayed there, sitting inside my car crying and remembering those days I've been with Luke, for God knows how many hours. I didn't even notice the time. The ringing of my phone made me aware of the time.
"Oh dear, where are you? I've been worried about you," says my mom from the other line.
"I'm okay mom. I'm just busy with something."
"Oh, sorry, I forgot," she replied apologetically.
"Sorry if I made you worry about me."
"I'm really just excited to hear stories from you about you and Luke's wedding plan," my mom said. I can sense excitement in her voice. How can I tell her that the wedding she's talking about is just a part of pure fantasy. It was just a plan that will never happen. Today or in the future.
"Nah, I'll just tell it to you when I'm home," I simply replied.
"Just text me if you're on your way home," she said before saying goodbye. I let her have the last words before I cut the line.
I was thinking of going home when an idea crosses my mind. I started the engine and drive towards Ema Houston's house, my bestfriend aside from that Ava, the w***e and b***h. I tried to call her but she was not answering my call. It's only when I reached her house that she calls me back.
"Sabby! Sorry for not answering your call. I was having my shower when you called," she said.
"It's okay, I'm in front of your house anyway," I replied before cutting the line. I climbed out of my car and walked inside their house. Martha, the Houston's maid greeted me but her smile suddenly faded without me knowing the reason why.
"You've been crying?" she said more of a question.
I just gave her the best smile I can. "Can I go to Ema's room?"
"Of course, you don't need to ask."
I give her a nod before climbing up the stairs towards my best friend's room. I was about to knock when the door suddenly opened leaving my hand in mid-air. "Hey, what's u- " I cut Ema's sentence as I hug her and cry.
"Hey, that's not what I expected from you after not seeing you for a long time," she said patting my back. She ushered me inside her room and made me sit on her bed.
"Shh, tell me what's going on. I'm here to listen."
I stopped crying and meet her eyes. "I broke up with Luke," I said waiting for her reaction. She opened her mouth to say something but she chose to just keep quiet. She nodded encouraging me to continue.
"Well, I caught him making out with someone, in- in his house, in his room, on his bed just today. I thought of giving him a surprise visit after attending a business trip in Chicago for six weeks but I was the one who was surprised. The worst part is that the woman is not just someone- "
"Wait. What do you mean not just someone?" she asked making me stop from telling her who the person is.
I exhaled before I meet her intent gaze. "It - it was Ava."
"What? What the? Is it for real?"
"You heard it right!"
Silence filled the room. "I swear; I'm going to wring her neck if I see her! Oh my gosh. How could she?"
I shrugged my shoulder as an answer. "I don't know."
She gave me a sympathetic look. "Oh please," I said trying to stop myself from crying but I lost it. Tears successfully roll down my cheeks. Ema comforted me until my sob subsided.
"You know what, they don't deserve your tears. Come on, cheer up! Let's just go and have some party!"
I dried my cheeks and smiled at her. She's right. Those people don't deserve my tears. After I've done everything for them, they just hurt me. I'm done with them. "You're right, those people are just a trash as they think they are!"
"That's the spirit honey!" says Ema cheerfully.
She went to her closet and choose a beautiful outfit for herself. I fixed my make-up and waited for her to change. I also texted my mom that I'll be late. After years of waiting, Ema's finally done with her business. "Let's go!" she cheerfully said. Ugh, no one is as cheerful as her. Ema talked to Martha once we come across with her in the dining area before we said our goodbyes. Using my car, we drive off the street to a nearby club.
After almost twenty minutes of driving, we pulled up the club. The bouncer immediately recognized Ema and let us in. It's just her, after all, this is my second time to be here. I'm not really into clubbing. It only happens at times like this- when I needed to get over anything out of my nerves.
The club is already crowded the time we entered. I can see sea of faces. I pulled Ema's hand. "Come on Sabrina, overcome that fear you have for clubs," she teasingly said towards me.
"Ugh, Ema, we both know that I'm not really into large crowd. Can we go now, let's just find a place better than this," I whispered in her ears.
"Don't let that fear ruin anything! Come on! This is only for once," she said pulling - more on dragging me towards a more crowded area. We heard catcalls that made me shiver as we pass by a group of people.
I saw girls wearing too short dresses displaying their soul to attract men. I cannot help myself to judge them. I know we are at a liberated era but could they atleast have self-respect. Anyway, who am I to judge? It's their body, their style, their rules. I just let that go and followed where Ema is dragging me.
My eyes went to the dance floor. The dance floor is already filled with people grinding and dancing as if it's their last chance to dance. Ema pulled me towards the VIP zone. A sexy woman followed us and asks for our orders. I ordered a hard drink for me and Ema to which my friend was surprised.
We were talking about my breakup with Luke when the hostess came in with our orders. "Enjoy your drinks!" she said giving us a genuine smile.
"We will!" I replied.
Moments later, I found myself drinking not just one, two or three bottles. I also asked Ema to order some more. I look down at the dance floor just to see the last two familiar faces I wanted to see. I smiled bitterly before I guzzled my soda. In all places to see them, why would it be here?
"Ema, will you tell me? Am - I not- that good enough to be - a girlfriend?" I ask.
"Shh, where here to enjoy not for you to think about how good or bad you are."
"Right, enjoy. But how? How can I if they're here grinding at each other at the dance floor?" I said pointing at the dance floor. Ema followed my hand pointing towards them.
Ema gasped causing me to glance at them. I laughed at the sight. Luke and Ava are kissing again. How could they just be so happy knowing that they caused me too much pain. How heartless are they? "We can go if you want," says Ema.
"No, let's have some fun tonight! I've seen them in worst position. I've seen them when Luke was satisfied being inside Ava," I sarcastically replied.
"Come on!" Ema laughingly said.
"If you only saw them. It's like they're in a roller coaster shouting on top of their lungs because of, well, maybe happiness and excitement because of the fact that they've been drilling each other for five years!" I sarcastically said making Ema laugh.
"Gosh, I cannot with your choice of words! You're literally killing me!"
I just shrugged my shoulder and took another drink of soda frim my glass and gulp it all. I wanted to drink. I wanted to forget everything. I wanted to forget why those people I trusted the most betrayed me.
