Trapped into Love

Chapter 13

Caden Stewart (POV)

"Hey, thank you for accompanying me tonight," I said as I tapped Jakes shoulder. He just nodded at me.

"You can always call me," he replied as he play with his keys.

After I'm done with my work, I called Jake and asked him if he can have a time to go to the club. And without hesitation, he said yes. And now, we are standing in front of the club ready to drive to go home.

"I wish you good luck!" he said before he slide inside his car to which I nodded. Yes, I really need that word.

I climbed inside my car when Jake started his engine. I immediately followed his car.

The light inside the house is still on when I parked my car. Meaning, they're possibly not asleep yet. It's just past eight in my wrist watch. I climbed out of the car and strode inside the house. Well, they didn't lock the gate and the entrance door as they always do when I'm still not home.

"Good evening," I said to get the attention of Roger who is comfortably sitting at the sofa watching his favorite movie.

"Good evening to you too. You're quite late or I don't know, maybe early," he replied.

"Where is Magie?" I asked, not minding what he said.

"She's in the kitchen making coffee for me," he replied to which I nodded.

"Did Sabrina go anywhere today?"

"Nah, no. She didn't go out. Hang over?" he replied.

"Okay. I'm just going to talk to her," I replied before going upstairs.

I know, I had a lot of issues to solve. But for now, it's my duty to talk to my wife after all the stunts I've done this past days. Yes, they're terrible and I hope that she can still talk to me without showing hate, annoyance or any other emotion.

I've been thinking deep about it lately and I guess, I also made mistake on hurting her. Maybe, if I just talked to her, things would have turned differently.

I knock at her room door. After three knocks, I hear her walk towards the door. The door opened. She look at me up and down. "You're drunk?" she said as she opened the door wider giving me space to enter. Without saying anything, I walk pass her and walk straight to her bed. I sat down at the edge of her bed.

"Why are you here? I don't have the strength to argue with you right now," she said while looking at me. She stands in front of me with her hands crossed on her chest.

"I'm not here to argue. I'm here to talk to you," I replied.

"About what exactly?"

"About Luke," I said. And I saw a bit of confusion passes her eyes. Yeah, she might be confused right now. Or, she is expecting me to say those words.

"What about him?" she said as she walk towards the chair by the window. I watch as she sits on it with elegance. Does she really need to sit like a queen in that chair?

"Are you not his ex-girlfriend?" I asked making her stare at me intently. Then, she heaved a sigh. That was deep like the deepest ocean in the world.

She looked up at the ceiling like it's the most interesting thing on earth that she's ever seen. I watch her in that state. Her beauty is really unique that it can capture my attention easily.

"Yeah, he's my ex-fiancé," she replied.

I will be lying if I say that I'm expecting that. I didn't know that Luke was about to marry someone before. Did he really make his life private even with his family? Well, maybe, I was just the one who doesn't know about it since I'm the one who cut my connections with him.

"Why didn't you marry him?" I asked. If Luke is his fiancé, what would be the reason for them not to get married. Why did she choose to marry me intead of Luke?

"Long story," she replied as she heaved a deep sigh.

"Tell me. I'm all ears," I replied making her look at me in surprise.

"Why are you even interested with my relationship with him?"

"It's because I'm your husband and I wanted to know everything about you."

"Oh? Don't you have anything important to do or any extra activities to do?" she replied. I can hear anger and disgust in her voice.

"I don't have anything to do today," I simply said.

She stared at me like she heard something that she never expected to hear. When she didn't say anything, I walk towards her and kneeled in front of her. "Tell me, will you," I said as I cupped her hands with mine.

I stared at her. Our eyes played with each other for a moment before she tried to look away. I thought she'll ignore me but she brought her attention to me and meet my eyes again.

She bit her lower lip and nodded. I smiled and kiss the back of her palm. She stands up from her seat, pulled her hands away from me and walk towards her bed. She climbed on it and sits down at the middle. Without even asking permission from her, I followed her and sits down at the edge of the bed again, this time, facing her. Now, we are facing each other, eyes connected.

"Luke and I were in a relationship for five years. We've been in- in love. He's the one who pushes me whenever I feel lonely and I'm about to give up. I gave him everything," she said and stared at me. I look at her. "Uhm, except of course for my V-card," she continued that made me smile. I wasn't expecting that. I thought she already give up herself for that man.

"And?" I said waiting for her to continue what she's trying to say.

"Well,he proposed to me. Of course, I'm the happiest woman alive that day. Why wouldn't I be happy? The man of my dreams just proposed to me," she replied.

A part of me is quite mad because of what she said. Mad because Luke is her ideal man. "I thought, he is really the man of my dreams. That changed when I came back from, ugh, seminar I guess. Yeah. A seminar that helped me wake up from a very dangerous dream in my life."

"Whay is that?" I asked. I'm really curious to why they didn't push through with the wedding. Why would she waste her time, leaving the man she love and marry me?

"I caught him having a happy time with my friend Ava. Well, I was mad because both important people in my life betrayed me like I've done the most terrible thing to them," she said.

I saw a bit of pain that passes through her eyes. Does that mean she's still into him? "Are you still into him?" I asked that gained a glare from her.

"What?" I said as I met her eyes. "I was just asking," I added.

"I'm not into him up to this point. He did the most terrible thing to me. Aside from the fact that he cheated, the person he chooses is my friend! And now Ava is pregnant with his unborn baby!" she replied making me raise an eyebrow. If she know that Ava is pregnant, why is she allowing him to meet her? Is she trying to get back on her friend for what they did behind her back?

"And their wedding will be next week," I said. That was the news I heard from my parents and I was even personally invited by Luke. That made me want to talk to Sabrina and I was thankful for doing it. I thought she'll be shocked or she'll say something but she just smiled.

"I know! I'm the reason why Luke chooses to be a responsible father and a man for Ava and the unborn baby," she replied.

"What do you mean?"

"Ava came to my office to ask favor from me. She want me to talk to Luke and tell him that she really need him," she said. As she tell more stories about her, Luke and her friend Ava, I immediately understood everything that is going on around me. All this time, I've been thinking too much. I even hurt her because of my own stupidity.

"Ah, when Ava asked me that favor, I was like - okay. Okay, I'll do it for her and the baby. That time, Luke was trying to take me back in his life but I don't want to. I already have a good life," she said.

"Sorry," I said out of the blue. She stared at me in confusion.

"Sorry for what?"

"For jumping into conclusion."

"I can't understand," she said. I smiled at her and told her everything. I told her the fact that I've been acting cold towards her because of Luke.

"Remember the first time I acted cold and harsh towards you? That was because my ex-girlfriend - "

"Ah, it's Raine," she interrupted to which I nodded.

"Yeah, it was her. It was her who showed a photo of you and Luke at the company canteen and did tell me something that ruined my mood. She told me that you were having a secret affair with Luke and even asked him to pay you visit at the company," I said making her shake her head.

"I didn't even expect him to pay me a visit. And, Raine. That ex of yours? she just appeared out of nowhere, spitting nonsense things when she saw us," she replied.

"That - well, I didn't listen to your side and just acted according to what I heard," I replied.

"You've hurt me," she said.

"I know and I'm going to do everything to make up for everything," I replied to which she smiled.

"Really?" she asked. I can hear excitement and happiness in her voice. It's as if she can't believe what she just heard.

"Yep. And, I'll start it by tomorrow!"

When she flashed her sweetest smile to me, I immediately pulled her into a hug. I thought she'll push me, but I was wrong again. She even hug me tighter. Then I realized something.

I love this woman. And I'm going to do everything for her. And I'm going to start with moving all her things to my room.

Sabrina Meyers (POV)

As I had promised, I left my work early and meet Ema at exactly four in the place she texted me. At the mall. Knowing Ema, she wants to shop and shop for herself. She can't stop buying things for herself.

She spend her time looking for a new dress that she can wear to her date. Yes, she's now dating after how many years of being single. I don't know what changed her mind but I am happy for her and her decision. After we are done shoping, we decided to stop by a restaurant to have our dinner.

"We've done a great thing today!" she said as she chew her food.

"Can you atleast chew your food first Ema!"

"Yah, fine. By the way, how did you convince Caden to attend Luke's wedding?" she asked.

I shrug my shoulder. "He is his cousin after all. What's wrong with that?"

"I thought they're not that close," she said.

"Nah, I told her that letting go of their nonsense feud will set him free. And, well, he really want to attend the wedding," I replied.

That's actually the truth. Caden really want to attend Luke and Ava's wedding and he did. He was even happy to see Luke being married to Ava.

Caden even told me that he already talked to Luke and did what I told him to do. And I'm happy because Caden can now have a peace of mind. "A penny of your thought," says Ema who is now looking at me while she eats her food.

"Nah, I was just thinking for something."

"Yeah, want to share?" she replied wiggling her brows. I rolled my eyes as an answer. I know what that means. She's aking something about my personal life.

"I was just thinking about how Caden suddenly changed his attitude. He really can change so fast!" I said. Well, that's not what I'm really thinking.

"Uh, uh. Someone is curious about how her husbands attitude suddenly changed," she replied as she puts down the spoon she's holding.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever," I replied in a 'duh' tone.

"But, seriously, it's really good to see you smile because of your so sweet husband," she said. I can't agree more. These past two weeks has been amazing.

After Luke and Ava's wedding, Caden gifted me a ticket to Hawaii. We spend three days there. And, I can't deny the fact that I'm really happy because Caden is doing and fulfilling his promise to me.

"Hey, you are zoning out again. Can you just share your thoughts to me!" she said.

"Nah, no need. Just focus on your food. It's already getting late. We've spend too much time here," I replied making her laugh.

"Oh, my friend. I know you miss your hot husband! Yaiks, I'm really happy for you!" she said as she claps her hand.

"Come on, just finish your food," I replied. We continued with our food until we're done.

I paid for our bill. It was actually me who asked her to just have dinner at a nearest restaurant so I have the responsibility to pay for our bill.

"See you tomorrow!" she said when we are already out of the restaurant.

"What tomorrow? I have work tomorrow," I replied.

"Uh, I forgot. You are already a married woman. You have priorities already," she said as she smile teasingly towards me.

"Yeah, right," I replied as I give her a hug. After we bid our goodbyes, we entered into our car and drives off the busy street. It was already eight when I reach the house. I heaved a deep sigh before climbing out of the car. We really did spend too much time shopping that we didn't notice the time.

"It's late, where have you been? Did you already have your dinner?" asked Caden who is leaning at the bathrooms door frame while he crossed his hands on his chest. He just had his shower.

Yes, he asked Magie to transfer all my things in his room and right now we are sharing the same room. We are now acting like normal couples who spends the night together. Unlike before that I have my own room.

I took off my shoes and put it aside the door. I walked towards the bed and sit at the edge and massage my feet. "I went to the mall," I replied.

I didn't bother to change my clothes and just lay down the bed. I watch as Caden sits at the edge of the bed. "Hmm, who's with you?" he asked.

"With Ema," I simply answered.

He just nodded as a reply. Silence suddenly filled the room. And it's killing me. "You're early," I said out of the blue to break the ice.

"I worked here. What's the use of my office here," he said as he crawled on the be and leaned on the beds headboard.

I would be lying if I say that I'm comfortable with this kind of setup. It's true that I've been sleeping with him on the same bed since the day I moved in his room. But still, those past days is quite different. Sometimes, I'm already asleep whenever he arrives.

"How's your day?" he suddenly asked.

"Great how about you?" I said.

"Good. Are you free for tomorrow?"

"Ah, I don't know. I have lots of things to do in the office. Why?"

"I have this meeting with a new partner in business and they asked me to bring you with me," he said. I turned to look at him. He is staring down at me. I used my other hand to support my head as I look up at him.

"Uhm, w-what t-time is the me-meeting?" I asked. I want to slap myself for stuttering. I hate the fact that his eyes affects me.

Wearing that signature smile of him, he leaned forward until his lips is just inches away from my earlobe. "Three in the afternoon, want to come?" he said. I can feel his warm breath causing me to shiver. I moved my head away from him and met his eyes. There's something in his eyes that I really cannot decipher.

We stayed like that for a long time until I cannot stand it anymore. "Ahm, I forgot to change," I said despite the fact that I don't really want to change my clothes.

I push myself up from the bed and headed towards the closet. I chose to wear a pair of pajamas. Caden is already sleeping the time I went out from the closet. His right arm is on his forehead. Did it take me that long for him to be asleep already?

I sat down at the edge of the bed, just enough for me to have the full view of his face. I smiled at the sight of him, sleeping like an innocent man. I extended my hand aiming to touch his face. In just a swift motion, he caught my hand using his hand that is on his forehead.

Moments later, he is now on top of me. I tried to wiggle to escape from his tight grip but he is too strong enough. "Trying to escape huh?" he said wearing his signature smirk.

"Oh, shut up!" I said as a small smile is forming on my lips.

"You could just ask me if you wanted to touch my face," he said.

"Come on! I just want to wring your neck."

"Then do it!" he said challenging me.

I just rolled my eyes. Then the atmosphere changes the time his face becomes serious. We stared at each other not knowing what to do.

I cleared my throat to break the ice. "You know, we need to have a rest. Work is waiting for us, remember?" I said as he move to the other side of the bed.

"Remember that we are the boss. We could always stay in this bed all day long," he teasingly said as he pulled me closer to him.

I just push him away and smiled. "Yeah, yeah. We can do all things in this bed but not now. We have a lot of time," I replied making him smirk. He then kiss me on my forehead to which I smiled.

I watch him as he push himself up from the bed and headed to the bathroom. A small smile was formed on my lips. His actions really made me happy.
