Sabrina Meyers (POV) "You're what? Oh my goodness gracious Sabrina! I'm happy for you! I can't imagine my the happiness I have for you right now." We are currently at my parents' place. It's been almost two weeks since I asked Caden a favor to stay here. He didn't say anything to stop me. He just told me to be careful and look after my mother who is now fully recovered. It's just nine in the morning and Ema had just arrived. And now she's trying to eat the information I just told her. "Yes, yes. I know It's surprising but yeah, I'm pregnant. It didn't even sink in not until I calmed myself," I replied. I really don't know what to feel after knowing that I'm pregnant. This has been my feeling since yesterday. I have mix emotions. "Yes! My friend will be having a baby soon!" she said with excitement. "Yeah, yeah. You're going to be her godmother!" I replied. "Are you happy?" she suddenly asked. I smiled at her that confirmed that I'm really happy. I wasn't anticipating on getting pregnant. I never planned about this pregnancy. But then, I'm still happy because I know that this is a blessing not just for me and my husband, Caden, but also to all the people that loves me. They've been waiting for this day to come. Now that I'm carrying Caden's child, a child conceived with love, I can totally say that I'm fully complete. That simple thought made me smile even more. "Hey, hey. Will you stop smiling? You're quite creeping me out. I know how happy you are to have a baby but please, stop. Just stop," says Ema as she walks closer to me. Once she's closer to me, I immediately push her. "Ugh, you smell - ugh, gross." "What? I used the perfume you gave me. That's what you prefer," she said. "But, I really can't take the smell," I replied with disgust and she nodded. "Oh, if I don't have an idea that you're pregnant, I would have already smack you or hit you, you hurt my feelings. I just want to touch your stomach for pete's sake!" she replied with a bit of annoyance. I smiled at her. "Come on, I have lots of clothes in my room. You can just take one and change. I really don't like how you smell," I replied. She just nodded her head. "Later. I'll change later. I'll be staying here," she replied but keeps a distance. My friend really knows what she's doing. "By the way, why are you here?" "Nah, I just want to have someone to talk to," she replied. "Oh, do you have any problem?" I asked. "Sort of. My father is bragging me about my marriage. He wanted to have a grandchild from me," she replied to which I laugh. I can't put my friend's face into picture. She just glared at me. "Hey! I'm still not ready to have a child you know. Marriage, ugh, I hate to hear that," she said. "Come on. Why don't you like marriage?" "I don't really know." "I thought you're dating?" I said in a raised eyebrow. "Yeah, but I'm quite afraid with the fact that he'll be asking for my hand in the future. I can- can't face that fact. It frightens me," she replied with pure honesty. "Why is that?" "You know how my parents end up. They got separated just after I celebrated my eighteenth birthday. I'm afraid that it might also happen to my marriage. I don't want my soon-to-be child to suffer because of my actions," she replied. I do understand where Ema is coming from. She just don't want to let her child to grow and live with a broken family. "Don't compare yourself with your parents' life. They're different from yours. You have your own way of thinking." She stared at me and smile. "You really are a married woman. You're now talking like a mother to me. Hey, I'm older than you!" she said as she let out a laugh. "Come on Ema! Just be confident to yourself!" I said to her cheerfully. Ema just nodded and smiled at me. I tried to convince her to think about the positive things in marriage. I want her to realize that she's not getting any younger and she needs someone to be with her. After a long discussion about marriage, Ema and I talk about some more stuffs. We try to divert our topic to a more interesting one. "Hey, what snack do you girls want?" asks my mom who just descended from the stairs. Ema and I were too engrossed with our topics that we almost forgot about my mom's presence in the house. "Hi mom, can you make a salad for me?" "What? Seriously?" my mother asked that made Ema laugh. "Yeah," I replied as I rolled my eyes. "Fine. How about you honey?" my mother asked as she look at Ema. "Did you bake some cupcakes?" she replied with a sly smile. "Yes, would you love to have them for snack?" she replied to which Ema nodded. After having a short conversation with us, mom went to the kitchen to make me some salad and get cupcakes for Ema. "Does Caden know about your pregnancy?" Ema suddenly asked that made my smile fade. "Not yet. I just discovered about my pregnancy yesterday," I replied. Yes, I've been vomiting nonstop yesterday and my mom told me to go with her. I was even surprised when she brought me to an obstetrician. "When will you tell him?" she asked. "I guess, today. He'll be here later. I'll be going back in our house today," I replied to which she nodded. After sometime, my mom, came out from the kitchen with a salad on her left hand and some cupcakes on her right hand. We eat the said snack while we are chatting. Mom even joined us and even enjoyed our company. It was past five when Ema leave. She really fulfilled her promise to stay with me for the day. And I'm really happy for that. At exactly six, just almost thirty minutes when Ema left, Caden showed up. Mom and dad talk to him at the leaving room while I fixed my clothes. After I'm done I went downstairs and joined them. Caden and I decided to have dinner with my parents before leaving. We then, waited for my parents' maid to cook for our food. After almost an hour of chatting, we were called for dinner. There, we continued with what we are talking. "Aw, thank you for allowing our daughter to stay with us," says mom to Caden who just shrugged his shoulder. She smiled at my parents. "That's totally fine mom. She really needs to be with you and I guess this should happen more often. I know that when he is with you, she feels happy," he replied making me smile. I really like it when Caden thinks of my happiness. "My daughter is really lucky to have you. I really didn't choose the wrong guy for her," my father said with wide smile. "That's enough mom, dad. It's getting late. We need to get going," I said to which my parents laugh. I give both of them a hug before Caden ushered me inside the car. "Take good care of my daughter Caden!" I hear my father said to Caden. "Yes sir!" he replied before sliding in at the driver's seat. "Ready to be back in the house?" he asked. I smiled and even touched his hand. Of course I'm ready. I want to have him by my side and I'm also excited to tell him about my pregnancy. I gave my parents a wave before Caden drive off the busy street. It took us half an hour to finally reach the house. Magie was too excited to see me that she didn't stop herself from hugging me tight. I misses her too that I hug her tighter. It was just because of the thought that I'm pregnant that made me release her from my tight hug. After having a talk with Magie and Roger at the living room, I decided to go to our room. I took a shower and changed into my pajamas. I went to the balcony and watch the stars up in the sky. "A penny of your thought?" says Caden who hugged me from behind. My heart suddenly beats faster. He put his head at the crook of my neck. For some reason, I felt a heart-stopping hesitation if I should tell him right now or let him just give a guess until he discovers it on his own. I don't know but I'm having a secons thought on what to do. We stayed like that for almost five minutes before I finally had all the confidence with me and face him. I touch his face and kisses him on his lips. He immediately answered the kiss and deepened it. When I feel like I'm out of breath, I pulled away. "Caden, I have something to tell you," I said. He stared at me. "What is that?" he replied as he stares at me intently. "Caden, remember when I told you that I'm not feeling well?" "Uhum. Why? Is there something wrong?" he asked. I can see concern written all over his face. I shake my head and smiled. "My mom and I - I went to an obstetrician yesterday," I said. She just stared at me. I can see excitement in his eyes. That motivates me to continue. "And I- I discovered that I'm actually a month pregnant," I finally said. He just stands there staring at me for a moment. When that information finally sinks in to him, hepulled me for a hug and lifted me up like he'd discovered something interesting. And that made me even happier. Knowing that he is happy after knowing that I'm pregnant pleased me. I can say that I'm one of the happiest woman that moment. One month. It's been one month since my mother got hospitalized. And throughout that month, I've learned a lot of things. I also experienced lots of emotion because of my pregnancy. Days passed by, and as usual, a lot of things happen. Some things have changed because of the news that I announced. People who has been there for me from the beggining are all happy. ********************************* It's also been two weeks since Caden learned about my pregnancy and he's been so supportive to me. He always finds time for me. He gave me lots of surprises. He's been my total package husband. And lately I've been longing for his presence. "You're zoning out again," says Luz. I am currently in my office. The fact that I'm pregnant did not stop me from coming to the office. It even motivates me to work hard for the company. "Oh, how long have you been there Luz?" I asked as she smiles. "I've calling for your name but you just keep on smiling, staring at the thin air," she replied making me smile. This woman is really impossible. She always has words for everything. "Why are you here?" I asked. "I just want to give this paper for you to sign, I just read it in detail," she replied. I nodded and told her to put it on top of the files that I've been reading a while ago. "Ma'am- " "Sabrina." "Wh-what?" asks Luz. "Luz, I've been telling you this. Just call me by my name everytime we are alone. You're even older than me," I said as I stopped her. "Oh, I forgot. I'm sorry. I can't get use to it. Anyway, I also receive a message from a client telling me that they wanted to arrange a meeting with you," she informed me. "Can you please schedule the meeting for me," I said making her nod. "Yes of course," she replied while smiling at me. "Do you have anything to tell me?" I asked her. She just shakes her head as a reply. "I'll just come again if I have something else to tell you or clarify. Just have some rest for you and the baby," she said before she heads out of my office. I smiled. Luz know everything about me. She knows about my pregnancy. And I really appreciate the way she treats me. When she learned about my pregnancy, she always makes sure that I have my break time. She doesn't even allow me to eat junk foods and even orders for healthy foods. After Luz left the office, I busied myself answering the emails that piled up my e-mail. This emails were from different clients and investors. When I'm almost done, my phone rings that startled me. I dig for my phone and Cadens name appeared on the screen. "Hello babe!" I cheerfully said. "Hey babe. Are you done having your lunch?" "Not yet babe. How about you?" I asked. "I'm having lunch right now in my office," he replied from the other line. "Good for you, I'll just be asking Luz to order for my food," I replied. "Come on Sabrina, don't forget to eat. You are not the only one who is in need of nutrients. Our baby needs it too," he replied from the other line that made me smile. Caden really show his love to our unborn baby. "I'm not starving our baby. It's still past eleven," I replied. "Time is not the one who is going to eat. It's you," he replied causing me to roll my eyes. "Fine. I'll ask Luz to order for our food," I replied. He told me all the things I needed and the things I shouldn't order. We talked for a while until he ends the call because his secretary reminds him of his upcoming meeting. I asked Luz to order for our food and just stay in the office with me. "Here comes your food Sabrina!" she said once she entered my office. "Wow! Too fast!" I replied to which she smiled. "Well, they know who they're serving," she replied making me smile. "Did you order for yourself?" I asked to which she nodded. "Yes and I use the company's -" "Nah, never mind. The employees can use the company's money to order for their foods, " I replied. And I'm not even kidding. It's really fine with me if my employees will use the company's money for their food. Well, I trust my employees. "And, someone left this envelope at the reception area," she said handing me the envelope. My name was written on it. I smiled and reach for the envelope. I put it on top of the other files. "I'll just read them later. Let's have first our lunch. My baby will cry," I said as I let out a small laugh. Luz accompanied me for lunch. We talk while we eat. She also reminded me of the events and meetings I needed to attend this week and the following week. "You will be busy this coming week Sabrina, if you want, I'll try to reschedule some other appointments of yours," Luz said. I shook my head. Rescheduling is not necessary since I still can manage. "I think it's better for me if I will push through with my schedule this week not unless I have seven thirty pm and onward appointments," I replied. "Nah, I made sure that you'll be free by six and up," she replied making me smile. She really knows her job. And I really don't regret hiring her in the first place. Once we are done, Luz left the office and continued with her work. I told her to check on the mails that I'm going to send her. Caden called me again to make sure that I had my lunch. She really worries too much about me and the baby. After that, I again busied myself signing paper, reading files and replying to some mails. In the middle of my work, the envelope that Luz gave me a while ago catches my attention. I reach out for it and opened it. This might be important. As soon as I opened it, I saw an unexpected thing. It's as if a ghost just appeared. My hands were literally shaking as I stare at those photos. Photos of Caden and Raine. The first photo was taken at a restaurant, where Raine is holding Cadens hands. The second photo was Caden hugging Raine in front of the restaurant. It was very clear that the photo was taken for a long time. The third photo was taken outside an apartment where Raine is hugging Caden. And it's very clear that the photo was taken the time my mother was hospitalized. The last three photos were inside the apartment. It's a photo of Caden and Raine in the bed. And I don't even know how to put a word on the photo. Fresh tears roll down my cheeks. Is Caden cheating on me? Is that the reason why he allowed me to live in my parents' place for a week? For him to cheat on me freely with his ex? But could this picture be real? Without thinking clearly, I grab my phone and put it on the purse that is on top of my desk and take it with me. I also bring the photos with me to use as a proof. I immediately went outside my office. "Where are you going Sabrina? You still have a meeting to attend to," Luz said but I looked at her not knowing what to say. When she's about to say something, I raised my hand stopping her from talking. I tried to smile and calmed myself. "Just cancel all my meetings today, tell them that I have some important thing to do. And uh, before I forget, please fix my desk before you leave the building," I said. I didn't even wait for her to say something and just leave as soon as the elevator arrived. I immediately drives off the busy street once I entered my car. I shouldn't waste my any time. Once I've proven that all those pictures are not fake, then I'll still have a long time to think straight on what to do next. I arrived in front of the Stewarts building. My heart is really beating so fast. If these photos are all true, then Caden doesn't deserve me at all. The employees greeted me as soon as I entered the building. Caden's office is still in the tenth floor and I'm very thankful that I'm able to ride the elevator and didn't wait for long. "Excuse me ma'am, where are you going?" asks Lily, who is Caden's new secretary. "Inside my husband's office," I replied nonchalantly. "Bu- but, ma- ma'am, y-you can't g- go inside," she stutters. "Why is that?" I asked to which she looked away. Her face reddened. That's when I had a chance to walk away. Without even knocking, I push Caden's door open and was surprised to see something that I wasn't expecting to witness. I saw Raine sitting on Caden's lap while kissing him. The envelope that I'm holding fell on the floor that made a loud thud causing them to look at me. Raine looked at me and smirked. "Hello Sabrina," she said. Breathing deeply, I forced myself to retain some measure of composure. I looked at Caden who is looking at me in shock. "Are you not expecting me to come?" I asked. Anger is visible in my tone. He pushes Raine out of his lap. "Babe, you are wrong!" Caden said as she walks towards me but immediately stopped him by raising my hand. "Wrong? But how can you explain those photos to me?" I asked as I point at those photos that are now scattered on the floor. Caden looked at it and glared at Raine. Raine just shrugged her shoulder. "Whatever you see explains everything Sabrina," says Raine. "Shut the f**k up Raine! You are not even helping me fix this!" shouts Caden but Raine just stands there with full confidence. "Caden, evidences are already in front of her. What more if I told her that I'm pregnant with your child!" says Raine that made my blood boil even more. "Pregnant?" both Caden and I asked. She just smiled while looking at me. I look at Caden waiting for him to say something but he just stayed quiet and frozen on his spot. That's when I decided to run away. I heard Caden calling me out but I just ignored it. I glance at him the last time with tears on my cheeks before the elevator closes. I run out of thebuilding ignoring all the stares I receive from the employees until I reach my car. This is again happening to me. Running away from my cheating husband. @Marcela Francisca
