Sabrina Meyers (POV)
Caden and I decided to distance ourselves from all the controversy that surrounds us as possible as we can. After talking with Dr. Carise, we went to see Raine in her apartment but we are not able to talk to her since she wasn't there.
"So, are you just going to stay here and wait for Raine's another plan?" asks Cadens mother. We are currently in Caden's parents place. They're not happy for what Raine has done.
"I don't know mom. But we want to talk to her first. We don't want to make things big as possible," replied Caden to which his mother nodded.
"If I am to be followed, I would rather put her in jail for spreading fake news. Unfortunately, it's the both of you that has the last decision," replies Caden's mother.
"Just don't talk to her alone. She might plot another story against you," I said. I know Raine will grab all the opportunity she can have to get Caden back. If she can steal from her cousin just to make up some stories that is believable, then she can do it to Caden as well. She's the most manipulative b***h I've ever meet in my life.
"I don't have any plan of talking to her alone. Now that I know that Raine is not really pregnant, I can now do whatever I want without thinking about her," Caden replied. "Since she's not willing to admit all her lies and what she did, I'll be the one to make her do it," he added making me nod.
"I really didn't expect her to do all these things. I thought Raine is a good woman. I thought she'll not be like this," says Elizabeth, who is shaking her head in disbelief.
"I really hate her the first time I saw her," I honestly replied. That's actually the truth. I really don't feel something like pleased or happiness seeing her.
"As your mother, the only thing I can really tell you to do is to make an official announcement that all the claims of Raine are all pure lies. You have all the will to do that," Elizabeth said.
That's what I actually have in mind. "We will do that if Raine will again do nonsense thing," replied Caden to which her mother nodded.
"Anyway, I'll go check our food for dinner," says Elizabeth.
Caden and I nodded. We waited at the living room for Elizabeth to finish what she is doing. "What do you think is the best way to face Raine?" asks Caden making me shake my head.
"I don't know. Maybe, if you will just stay away from her, not believing in all her words and not be carried away by her emotions, she can stop," I replied to which he nodded.
"I know that I was the one who is at fau -"
"I'm not blaming you, okay? I'm just trying to tell you what you need to do to prevent her from doing things that can destroy us."
Caden stared at me for I don't know how long. He heaved a deep sigh and smiled. "Yeah, you're right," he said making me nod.
It takes Elizabeth almost half an hour before she appeared from the kitchen. "Guys, it's time to eat for dinner," says Elizabeth. Caden ushered me to the dining room while Elizabeth went upstairs to see William in his office.
After we had dinner, Caden and I left the Stewarts place. It's already past eight when Caden parked in front of the house. "At last we are here. I'm quite tired," I said as he helped me out of the car.
"Yeah, maybe because of our baby," he replied. Caden takes out all the paper bags at the back of the car. Yes, paper bags. This day, Caden cancelled all his appointments just to accompany me at the mall. According to him, he doesn't want me to go there alone knowing that some people are still throwing hates on me.
After, going around the mall to shop for things I don't know if I needed, we headed straight to the Stewart's place.
We entered the house and saw Roger coming out from the dining area. "Hey, how's your day?" he asked making me smile. A smile with contentment.
"Fine like sunshine, how about you?" I replied.
"Certainly fine young lady. I went out to do some kind of transaction," he replied to which I nodded.
"Where is Magie?" asked Caden.
"She's in our room. She's kind of, not feeling well. Her head is aching and she decided to retire early," he replied.
"That's not normal," I commented making Roger shake his head.
"That's what I thought."
"Why didn't you accompany her to the nearest hospital?" I asked once again.
"Well, the pain is just a normal thing for her. That is according to her," replies Roger. I heaved a deep sigh before glancing at Caden who just gives me a nod. I can't stop myself from worrying so I went to her room and left Caden and Roger at the living room.
Magie is still awake once I entered their room. "Are you okay?"
"Yes, I just feel dizzy. But now, I'm totally fine," she replied.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, don't worry about me," she replied.
"How about you? Are you okay?" she asked.
"Yes," I replied as small smile crept on my lips.
"Ah, that's good to hear. How about your baby, ah, it's still not visible," she said mentioning about my bump.
"We are both fine. Caden is really taking good care of me," I replied to which she smiled.
"That's good to hear," she said as she caress my arm. "You know what, I'm happy to see you and Caden being happy together. And now, I'm looking forward to your future," she added making me smile.
"And I want you to be with us in the future," I replied making Magie nod.
"Roger and I will always be with the both of you," Magie said making me smile.
I talked to her for a while before I leave her. Knowing that Magie is fine makes me breath comfortably. I really can't take it when someone close to me feels sick.
I headed to our room and did my usual evening ritual before going to bed. Caden is already on the bed waiting for me. Once he noticed that I ready to rest, he stopped what he is doing which is reading his favorite book.
The next day, I woke up with someone playing with my hair. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Caden smiling at me. "Good morning," I greeted him as I flashes a smile. Caden didn't say anything but just kissed me on my forehead.
"Are you watching me the whole time while my eyes are close?" I asked to which he nodded. I plaayfully glared at him making him let out a small laugh.
"I love watching you. I'm really happy to see you sleep peacefully. I'm really sorry for dragging you into this mess," he said. I can see pain in his eyes.
I lifted my hand to touch his face. "Come on, this is just a challenge for us," I replied making him smile. He holds my hand that is touching his face and caress it with his thumb.
"You really are an impossible woman," he said. "Despite the fact that I'm at fault, you still forgive me and always have patience and understanding," he added.
"That is because I love you Caden. I know that, it makes me look like a fool but I love you. I can always understand and have patience on you. Forgive you and give you a chance," I replied.
"Thank you."
"But Caden, that doesn't mean that I'll always be like that. I also have limits. I can't always be the one to forgive. You are lucky that I still can see myself being with you, having a complete happy family. Once I'm tired, I'm telling you, I'll be the one to go away and leave," I seriously said making him nod with pure seriousness in his eyes.
"I'll never let you give up on me because I love you," he said as he kissed me again on my forehead. A kiss that gives assurance to me.
I heaved a deep sigh and pushed myself up the bed for me to lean on the beds headboard. Caden helped me as I did that. "Come on, go and prepare. You still have lots of things to do!" I said as I took the phone on the bedside table.
"Nah, I'll stay here. Are you going to your office?" he asked.
"I already texted Luz that I'll be staying home. I told her to cancel all of my meetings today and just send me those mails she's receiving," I replied as I started to browse on my social media account.
Caden was about to say something when I stopped him after clicking the link that Ema sent me. "What?" he asked.
"I - I don't know," I replied as I started reading the article.
My blood rises up my head as I read the article. Raine again make story. She's really not going to stop until she destroys everything. "Caden," I said as I give my phone to him.
Caden reach out for it and reads it. His expression suddenly changed. "I guess your mom is right. You need to give your own statement regarding that issue. Raine doesn't even know that we already know about her secret. We can talk to her cousin about it," I said as Caden stands up.
No way in hell that we are going to just shut up and let Raine do all her dirty tricks. "I really can't believe it. She stoops too low just to get peoples sympathy and her parents attention," says Caden.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Raine's parents are already ignoring her and now that this pregnancy issue comes out, her parents are now giving her the attention she needs. Her parents even told me to give Raine the things she needs," he replied.
"Caden, it's time for you to go and tell everybody that Raine is not telling the truth. This is not the time to think about who gets hurt or is going to lose the name! Now is the time to clear your name and finally end the issue," I said. I know, I sound desperate, but what should I do? I don't want to just sit and watch Raine destroy my family.
"Okay fine, let me just arrange everything and do all the works needed to be done," Caden replied before he pushed himself out of the bed. He take his phone with him and dialed a number. Once the person on the other line answered, he heads out to the balcony.
I just let him do what he needs to do and waited for him to come back. I waited patiently until he finally approached me. "Go and prepare yourself. Today, we are going to clear this issue," he seriously said making me nod. Seeing him being serious makes me think that today is going to be a big and tiring day.
I just followed what Caden instructed me to do. I did my usual morning ritual and change into my comfortable dress before having breakfast with Caden.
"Are you ready?" asked Caden once we are in the car.
"Yes, I am. I'm ready for this," I replied before he finally drives off the busy street. It took us almost half an hour before Caden stopped the car and informed me that we have finally reached out destination.
I exhaled for the last time before I stepped out of the car. Caden help me out. He looked at me. "Are you sure that you can do this?" he asked.
"Yes. I'm very sure," I replied as I stare at the apartment we are standing right now. It's Raine's apartment.
After how many times of thinking and choosing on what is the right thing to do, we came up with the idea that we should talk first to Raine. Yes, we don't want to make a step that might affect a lot of people. Caden intertwined our fingers and walk towards the door.
I watch as Caden pressed the doorbell. After some time, the door opened and Raine appeared. She smiled sheepishly as she saw Caden standing in front of her. But those smile suddenly fades as her eyes landed on me.
I raised an eyebrow. "Can we talk?" says Caden.
She looks at us with a raised eyebrow. She still has the nerve to do that. How could she face us with everything she did? "No, you can't. Not unless," she said as she looks towards me.
"Unless what?" Caden asked.
"Unless, you will come inside alone," she replied as she gives me a mocking smile. "Just like how you came here, ah, the time we sleep together," she added. I almost laugh at her. Does she really think that I'm going to be affected by her words? No not at all, after Caden told me about what really happened.
"Raine, this is not the time for us to say nonsense things. This is the time to be serious and discuss everything between us," Caden replied.
"Nah, no. I will only allow you to come inside my apartment. If you are not good with that then it's better for you to go away," replied Raine.
I looked at Caden. "Well, I guess, we really can't talk to her at all. Why don't we just leave and tell everyone that Raine is not really pregnant and is the one using her family's influence to manipulate people?" I said and look back at Raine.
Her face reddened. "I'm telling the truth! I'm pregnant! And it's Caden's baby!" she said.
"Then let us in so that we can talk about everything," I replied. She stared at us before she opened the door wider. Caden and I stepped inside her apartment.
She ushered us to her living room. I put my handbag on the table. "Now, what will you do Caden?" she said as she smirked at us.
Caden pulled his hands away from me. "Raine, I'm telling you now, stop this act of yours. Please just let us live peacefully," I said to which she laughs.
"Sabrina, Caden has responsibility to me. I'm pregnant with our unborn baby. I'm also asking you to please let Caden alone. Let us live in peace. I know, he can love me again," she replied.
"This papers are your proof that your pregnant, right?" says Caden while handing Raine the envelope that she gave me before.
Raine reach out for it. "Yes, and I tell you, this are real and Sabrina has nothing to do but to let you go. You see, Sabrina, we are going to have a family and I don't want my unborn baby to suffer because you didn't allow her father to be with us," she said. Hearing those words coming from her makes me want to puke in her face. How could she say nonsense words? How could she use pregnancy, one important matter for women, to manipulate people?
"Stop! Stop with all your nonsense claim Raine!" says Caden.
"Caden, just accept the fact that I'm pregnant and leave your wife! She's a good for nothing woman!" she replied. And, in just a swift, my palm comes in contact with her right cheek. Raine was taken aback by my action. She wasn't expecting it.
"Doctor Carise Anderson is your cousin and of course the one who released all those papers for you. I see. But why did she tell us that you've been stealing those papers from her?" I sarcastically asked. Raine's eyes literally widened. I know, she wasn't expecting that from me.
"N - no. Sh- she has forgotten about it. M- maybe she was just too tired that day!" she replied.
Caden looked at me and nodded at him. He looked away from me. "Raine, you've done enough damage. You lied to all of us. I was just too thankful because you revealed your own truth. This is enough," Caden said as he looks at Raine.
Raine looked between me and Caden. "Caden, believe me. I'm pregnant and - and it's been a month now. Caden, remember, you once loved me. You know that I can't lie in your face," she said to which Caden laughed.
"Raine, you've been lying to me. And you are right, I once loved you and I know what you can do. You can lie behind or even in front of someone else," Caden replied.
"But Caden -"
"Raine, if you really love Caden, you will set him free. You see, I'm pregnant with our unborn baby and I don't want her to suffer because you didn't let Caden be her father," I said that made her look at me.
"You are pregnant?" she asked.
"Yes."
Raine laughed. She walks towards me and is about to slap me when Caden suddenly stopped her. "Touch my wife and I'll make sure that you're going to be hurt," Caden warned.
"Why can't you just leave her for me Caden," she said.
Caden gently grabbed my hands. I took my handbag at the table. "Raine, we are here to talk to you but you're making this hard for all of us. I guess, we just need to clear things up on our own," says Caden. "Just leave us alone and live life to the fullest," he added before he gently grabbed me. We are just a meter away at the door when Raine suddenly called for Caden's name.
We synchronously turned towards her. "Caden, if I failed to have you by telling that I'm pregnant. I'll do everything to drug your name down," she said.
I can't say that I'm not surprised when Raine suddenly put her hair down and just ruffled it. Now she looked like a woman who just came from a fight. We watched her pulled a scissor from nowhere. Where did she even get those scissors. I really don't know.
We watch her as she makes a mess to her clothes. And she really looked like a mess now. "What are you doing?" Caden asked her.
Raine just smirked and went to the kitchen. We just stayed there waiting for her next action. She then came out from the kitchen, drenched with water. What the heck! What is going on?
I was about to ask her when she suddenly screamed for help. "Caden suddenly walks towards her and hold her still. That even made her scream louder. "Raine! What the f**k do you think you're doing!" Caden scolded her but she just keeps on shouting. I was just watching her do all those things until we heard a knock from the door.
Raine pushed Caden as hard as she could and runs to the door. Once the door is open, lots of her neighbors came to see what is happening. "What is happening," asked the lady who is standing at the door.
Raine cried. "They - they hurt me. They did this to me!" she said pointing at us.
That's when my head heats up. "What the f**k Raine! You did that to yourself!" I shouted.
Caden walks beside me and tried to calm me down. "Raine, you're going to far!" says Caden with a loud angry voice.
"See, they're threatening me and now they're blaming me for what happened. They're blaming me for what they did," she said. The woman believes on what she said.
"I'll make sure that you will be sued for what you did to this lady," she said. And even the people outside who are watching agreed to what the lady said.
Raine give us a smirk. A smirk of victory. "Now, better get out of her apartment and wait until we file a case on you!" says the lady.
Caden was about to answer when I stopped him. "We will wait for that and we will make sure that before you file a case against us, truth behind all of this will surely be revealed," I replied.
"This isn't the scene that I'm expecting," Caden said and pulled me out of the apartment. I gave one last glance to Raine who is crying in that lady's arms. I smirked. She's really a good actress but what will she do if her acting will be revealed.
