Chapter 19

Caden Stewart (POV)

I walk briskly inside the conference room. Today is the day that I'm going to face the public. With all the reporters in the room, I can clear all the allegations thrown towards us.

Two days after the incident at Raine's apartment, the issue of me and Sabrina harassing her was all over the news. Those neighbors of her believes in her and filed a complaint against us. Raine even continued with her plan telling everyone that I'm too irresponsible not to support the baby she's carrying.

Her parents even payed a visit to my parents and threatened them that once I'll not support their daughter they will cut the friendship they have with my family. My parents just agreed to it. According my mother, my father even told Raine's parents that they should have cut all the ties when Raines cheated on me.

I smirked at the back of my head. Raine really is a hard headed person that she didn't listen to me. I already forgive and warned her but she just keeps on going. She really thinks that everyone of us is stupid. But she's wrong. My wife is too intelligent for her.

The time we decided to talk to Raine, she put a hidden camera on her handbag and it captures everything that had happened. And now, that's what I'm going to use and show the public to make everything clear. This is just too much for us.

The reporter where to loud when I finally take a seat. The flashing of the cameras adds up with the noise. My secretary Lily stopped the noise and asked everyone to ask question one by one.

"Mr. Stewart, you're a known businessman. Is everything going well since the issue about you comes out?" asks one reporter.

"No. As you can see, the business is going well. Nothing changed," I simply replied. That's actually the fact. After all the issues, the business didn't go down.

"Are all the allegations about you are true Mr. Stewart?" ask the first reporter.

I heaved a deep sigh. This is it. No turning back. "No. They're all lies."

"Do you mean all, from your ex-girlfriend's fiancé to the allegation that you and your wife harassed her in her own apartment?" asked another reporter.

I smirked. "Raine is not pregnant and I can ask someone to prove that I'm telling the truth. And regarding that harassment, her neighbors just over reacted about it. They don't even know what really happened inside. They just heard her scream," I replied. That's when the reporters started to murmur with each other.

"And for all of you to know what really happened, I'll just let you watch a video," I added and asked Lily to play the video that was captured by Sabrina using her hidden camera. I smiled at that thought. I wasn't informed that she's been planning all by herself without even telling me.

Lily played the vide and all camera and eyes is focused on that. I hear them gasps as they watch what is really going on. That video will certainly prove that everything was all plotted by Raine. And her acting skills did work.

After the video played, all the reporters were quiet. "Mr. Stewart, are you going to file a case against your ex-girlfriend," asked one reporter.

"I really don't need to do that and I don't have a plan of doing that. The fact that her family is a very close ally and friend of my family, I think, that would make a little bit of problem. Unless, she'll do another move that will force me to file a case," I replied. When I heard no more questions, I asked Lily to let our special guest in.

Dr. Carise Anderson entered the conference room. I asked her to tell everything she knows regarding the issue that Raine is pregnant and I can say that all the people inside are amazed by how Raine manipulated them.

Once Dr. Anderson is done talking, I gave my last words for the reporter and headed outside the conference room. I thank Dr. Anderson for her cooperation. I really didn't expect her to come. After all, she's Raine's cousin. I also asked Lily to attend with all the reporters if they still have some questions.

It's almost past eleven when the reporters leave the building. And I can't say that I'm relieved after that interview. I really don't do such thing. I don't allow reporters to come inside the building but today is different. It's about my wife and my family and I can't just sit and relax until the issue ends.

I also check the social media and was glad to see that news about the truth was all over it. Now, people are saying good things about us. About how good we are after all Raine had done to us. They're even proud of how strong my wife is despite all the hate thrown to her since the issue comes out. Some even apologize for all the hate they throw towards her.

After reading more articles about the controversy, I busied myself with all the works that is waiting for me.

I was in the middle of reading a certain file when my secretary barged in without even knocking at my door. "What is wrong with you?" I asked.

"Sir, Magie asked me to tell you to answer her call," she said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Emergency," she replied. I can see fear in her eyes.

I dig for my phone on my pocket. I almost hit my own self after noticing that my phone is in silent. Magie has been calling me for almost five times. What could be the reason why she will call me.

I asked my secretary to go out of the office which she did. I dialed Magie's number and in just two rings, she immediately picked it up."Caden, come home as fast as you can," she said. I can say that she's worried about something.

"Why? Did something happen? Why do you sound so worried?" I asked with pure curiosity.

"Come home. Raine is here and - and she has a- a gun with her," she said. That's when I stand up from my seat and just grabbed my keys on my table. I didn't even bother to fix my desk first. I just locked my office to make sure that no one can enter it and run out. I was just too thankful that I'm able to ride the elevator on time.

"Is Roger there?" I asked Magie as I'm in the elevator.

"That's the problem. He's been out and is doing something at your parents' house. But I already called him. I just don't know if he'll make it first before you arrived," she replied.

"Okay, I'll be there. Please have some time to call the cops," I said.

I run out of the elevator when we reach the first floor. I immediately run towards my car and climbed inside. I drive as fast as I could. I will not allow Raine to do something to Sabrina.

After almost fifteen minutes, I'm now in front of the house. I was driving too fast that it took me a shorter time to get here. I climbed out of the car and saw Magie, Roger, Nathan and my parents outside the house. "Why are you still here?" I asked in frustration.

"Caden, - Raine locked the entrance door and - and - " Magie was not able to continue what she's about to say when we heard a loud shot from the inside.

Sabrina Meyers

I felt relaxed as soon the water comes in contact with my skin. It's like all worries are being washed by every drop of it. I started to move and wash myself.

After I'm done taking a bath, I wrapped myself with my towel and walks towards our closet. It took me almost a minute to choose a shirt for myself. I chose to use Caden's t-shirt again that ends my mid-thigh. I paired it with a short. It's my comfortable way of dressing myself especially now that I'm pregnant.

When I'm satisfied with what I'm wearing, I walk towards the television and opened it. Yes, Caden decided to install a television in our room for me to just watch anytime I want. As soon as the television is opened, I walk to our bed with the remote on my hand and find my comfortable spot for myself.

I look at the alarm clock on the bedside table. I still have twenty minutes to make snack for myself before the live interview of Caden in his office.

Yeah, today,he will be giving his statement regarding the issue he's in. He will be clearing her name.

I pushed myself out of the bed again and heads outside our room to the kitchen. "Hey, you're out. Do you need some snack?" Magie asked me.

"Yeah, I want to eat something. Are there any snacks in the refrigerator?" I replied to which Magie nodded.

"That's great!" I cheerfully said and look for a snack for myself. And Magie isn't telling lies. When she says that there are plenty of snacks in the refrigerator means too much.

I chose to have an ice cream with me and cupcakes, plus chocolates. I put it in a tray and Magie just looked at me in disbelief. "Don't tell me you're going to eat all of that!" she said making me smile at her.

"Believe it or not, this isn't too much for me. This is just the right amount that I want to eat," I replied. She just laughed at me.

"Ah, pregnancy it is," she said with a little bit of sadness in her eyes. And I know what that means. She wasn't able to experience what I'm experiencing now. She wasn't able to feel the feeling that I have right now.

Pushing all those kinds of thoughts, I tried to divert the topic. "Where is Roger?" I asked.

"That man is in the Stewart's place. Elizabeth just called a while ago telling him to come to their place and fix something," she replied. I nodded my head.

"I see. Anyways, I'll be leaving you here. You can have a rest if you're not doing anything. You can watch Caden's interview in the living room," I said to which she nodded. After that talk, I immediately went to our room with all the snacks I have put in the tray.

I put the tray down at the bedside table and find myself a perfect spot. I leaned on the beds headboard and relaxed. I waited for how many minutes before the live interview of Caden started.

A small smile formed on my lips when Cadens face just appeared on the television. He is really handsome in every angle. And even if he is on T.V, no one can argue that he really looks handsome.

The reporter started to ask questions to him to which he answered with pure sincerity and confidence. I could not stop myself from being proud of him. I smiled as he answers every question thrown towards him.

And the smile on my lips didn't fade until Caden asked Lily to play the video I captured using a hidden camera when we were at Raine's place. I really didn't tell Caden about it because I know, he will just stop me from doing it. And I think, that's a great idea I had in mind. Now, Caden will not be accused of telling lies because of the evidence he has with him. All the case that was filed against him and me will just be terminated.

After Cadens interview, Dr. Carise appeared on the screen and tells the bunch of reporters that Raine has been telling lies in front of all of them.

A smile of victory appeared on my lips. Of course I'll be happy. After all, truth finally prevailed. I turned the television off after the interview and a satisfied smile that I was wearing from the beginning of the interview is still on my lips. I stayed on my bed just eating all the snacks I have with me.

I reach out for my phone at the bedside table and opened my social media account. And I'm too surprised to see a lot of message and articles about Caden's much awaited truth. I read some of the comment and a satisfied smile just crept on my lips. A lot of people feel sorry for me. They aren't expecting the fact that I'm really the victim of all those acts done by Raine.

I was too engrossed reading all the articles that I didn't notice the time. Thanks goodness someone knocked on the door. I'm also starving. Those snacks I ate are not enough. I smiled and pushed myself out of bed.

I opened the door and is surprised to see Raine standing infront of me. She's wearing a deadly smile. "Hello Sabrina," she said.

"R-raine. What are you doing here?" I asked. I really don't think that Raine's presence is good. By the way she smiles at me and the way she greets me, I can easily say that she's up with something.

"Well, I came here uninvited to pay you a visit," she said as she moves closer to me.

"No, stay there!" I immediately said raising my hand to stop her but she just keeps on walking towards me.

I thought of just pushing her if she comes more closer but the next thing she did really frightened me. She raised her right hand that is on her back a while ago with a gun on it. My eyes literally widened. "Raine, what do you think you're doing!" I said.

"I'm here to kill you, obviously!" she replied as she smirked at me. I step backwards not knowing what to do. She has a gun. How could I even fight for myself? She walks closer and closer towards me until my back hits the wall. I'm now trapped.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked.

"It's because you stole everything I want in life. My family, my wealth and my man! Everything," she said as she points the gun on my heart.

If she pulls the trigger, surely, I'll die on the spot. Without even thinking twice, I screamed and called for Magie. I know Magie can hear me. I screamed and screamed but Raine just laugh at me. "Magie will not help you Sabrina. She's out of the house," she said with a mocking smile.

"What do you mean? What did you do to her?"

"I threatened her that if she will not go out, I'll shoot you and her."

"Now that she went out, you wouldn't shoot me, right?"

Raine laugh. "You are too stupid Sabrina like that Magie!" sge said. "Do you think I willlet you leave?" she added.

I looked around me bit the only thing that I can reach is the tray on the bedside table. "If I cannot have Caden, I will not allow any woman to have him!" she shout at me. "And now is the chance to do that! I will start it from you!" she added.

"You can't kill anyone Raine!" I said.

"Yes I can! This gun has two bullets and is intended for you! Once I missed once, I still can use the other one to shoot you!" She was about to pull the trigger when I reached out for the tray and used it to hit her hand that is holding the gun as hard as I can. She wasn't expecting thay from me.

The gun flew away from her and I immediately acted fast. I run towards the gun and reach out for it. I turned around to point the gun on her but she's fast. She was about to grip my hand.

She tried to pull the gun away from me but I used my strength for her not to have it. She even hit me on my face just to have the chance to get the gun but I didn't allow her to. She even exerts much effort causing me to accidentally pulled the trigger. A loud gun shot filled the air. That made Raine step away from me with the gun on my hand. I took that a chance to run out of the room.

"You stupid b***h!" I hear Raine shouts as she followed me out.

I was already on the first step going down the stairs when Raine grabbed my hair. That was painful. The gun even flew away from us. I used my strength to push her away but she's just too strong. What I have in mind is my baby. Once I exert more strength, there's a tendency that my baby will be affected.

Raine keeps onpulling my hair and that made me do the same to her. I hear sirens of policemobile and that gave me more hope to fight. I exerted much strength to push herbut I was not able to do it. She pulled my hair as hard as she could and kickme on my stomach. That's when I lost it. When she's still not satisfied, shepushed me hard causing me to fall on the stairs. That's when I heard a loud gunshot. The last thing I was the blood that is on the floor and Caden runningtowards me calling out for my name.
