**Fenrir POV**

after our little secret meeting, I checked the time 5:38 in the morning, training was almost over by now so I decided to just skip today's training for a shower and a nap, it had been a long night, I headed up to the fourth floor of the packhouse, a floor reserved for the alpha family, Jessica scent hit me immediately, and I let out a frustrated growl, her scent was all over my door, like she was just here. this girl needs to go, she's not even supposed to be on the fourth floor. I pushed open my door and saw her on the couch.

"you know your not supposed to be on this flo..."

"I don't want to be your Luna. I want to be with my mate." she cut me off with the nervous attitude of someone that was afraid they're chicken out.

It takes a few moments for her words to fully register, and i notice that she's not all dressed up and spackled with makeup. I turn and closed the door behind me and sit down on the armchair near her.

"run that by men again" I say still trying to wrap my mind around this.

Jessica took a deep breath "I'm sorry, Alpha Fenrir, but I don't want to be your Luna, I want to be with my mate. I have been actively trying to mange your pack hates me, and I've been doing things that mange me hate myself. I've been trying to get you to call off this arrangement, but it seems like nothing i do, it's enough to push you over that line." she admitted looking smacked them I've ever seen her before.

"uh huh" was all it could mange before she started rambling.

"look your a ton alpha, and your good looking, and Tor is a handsome powerful wolf, but I'm just... you're not... you have a very nice pack and I would be lucky to be the Luna here, but i don't want that, I never did. I agreed because im 23 and I haven't found my mate and my grandfather was very pushy about it, but then I got here, and scented my mate but he's not 18 yet so he doesn't know I'm his mate, and I thought of you hated me and your pack hates me, you call this off, so I started acting like a b***h and now so stressed out the my hair is falling out and I can't eat anything..."

"Jessica " I say to get her you stop talking. "Relax and breathe, I don't want you either. I mean, what pair we make, you've been trying to sabotage us, and I've been trying to figure out how to get rid of you without upsetting your grandfather." I start laughing

"Wait you don't want this either, but I thought you requested this arrangement?" she said shocked by this revelation.

"No" I shake my head. "This was all set up by the council, mostly by your grandfather. "

"Oh them the goddess, I was so scared you were going to refuse to end the arrangement, and if be stuck here being unhappy, force to watch my true mate end up with someone else." she let's our the most relieved crying laugh I have ever heard. "in that case if i haven't completely destroyed any hope of it with my abhorrent behavior. can I ask for your help"

"You want my help?" I raise an eyebrow " that's gonna require an explanation"

she takes another deep breath. "My mate, he's one of your omegas....and my family, well they definitely won't approve, they will demand that i reject him, saying that as an Alphas daughter, anyone below Gamma rank is an unacceptable, mate and that Gamma is already pushing it."

"awe, I see and you don't agree with them." I questioned

"I think, the moon goddess knows what she's doing, and i don't freaky care about rank and status honestly, I'd be perfectly happy with a cute little house, raising pups with my mate and growing flowers in my little garden. no amount of power and status can buy that kind of happiness." she says getting up and looking out the window, at the sunrise.

"That's surprisingly, romantic coming from you." I say "or at least the version of you that i have come to know over these last months."

"That was, all an act, honestly, and I hate myself for it, I took every toxic trait from every every ranked shewolf I have been disgusted by and acted just like them." she said trying not to cry

"You certainly had me convinced that was the real you. so who is the supposed mate of yours" I asked

"His name is Tony, I often sneak down to the training field to watch him training with the warriors, he's not a bad fighter, he puts in real effort. he smells like the forest first thing in the morning, when everything is covered with dew, his eyes are chocolate brown, his voice is like warm honey." the light in her eyes as she talks tells me she's not lying to me.

"Tony..." I can't help but laugh a bit "oh boy, well my plan to get rid of you just fell had on its face."

"what? how so?" she asked

"The omega you tried to slap, when Emily stopped you, that's Tony's older sister. so the plan was to have Tony do something, relatively minor, maybe accidentally spill a drink on you in the dining hall, to get you to hit him, so that i call off our arrangement, on the grounds that you don't match with Moon Glade Pack values, but if Tony is your mate..." I motion with my hand.

"I would never hit him, because its almost impossible to physically harm your mate." she chuckles. "and i know exactly who Elle is, she knows her little brother is my mate, and she knew i was going to hit her. Elle provoked me on purpose. it seems we had similar plans, alpha."

we both have a good laugh now. " OK, Jessica, then we agree, neither of us wants this, so how about this, just be yourself, if anyone asks, we are still agreed to mate" I hold up a finger. " this will keep the council off my back a bit longer, while i keep looking for my mate. Then once your mate turned 18 and scents you out, you Jessica accept him, and we publicly end our arrangement, and, IF, you have proven to be a good pack members during that time, I will allow you join Moon Glade, as an elite and stay here with your mate, as part of my pack and under my protection. Deal?"

Jessica squeaked with happiness, and covered her mouth, before bearing her neck in submission. "I swear, Alpha, I'll be the best pack member, starting today, I'll assist Marlene and Emily like i was supposed to, and I'll begin training tomorrow morning." she says. "that is unless you have another duty you would like me to handle."

"Mmmm, no help the girls, you have Luna training, and Moon Glade hasn't had a Luna for over a decade, even if it's not a role you will be taking, any work you can help the girls get caught up with, would be greatly appreciated."

**unknown pov **

my eyes feel so heavy, and this room is way too bright, my room is never bright, the lights don't even work, and the window is boarded over. I blink to get my eyes to adjust, is this a hospital room, how did I get to a hospital, my body hurts, and I have restraints tying me to the bed, velcro not leather and locks. I'm so tired....

"sleep sweet girl your safe for now" mystical feminine voice

what a comforting voice I think as sleep takes me once more.
