It’s the start of a new month, I had returned from a little gift shopping when I found my parents in the living room with a big box on the table.
“What’s going on?” I asked.
They turned to face me at the same time, then my mother walked up to me and held my hand as she led me towards the couch.
She slowly sat me down as I waited anxiously for whoever was going to answer my question.
They stared at each other and the decision was finally made that my mother would begin.
“The date has been set” she says breaking the silence.
“What do you mean?” I asked confused.
I looked at her then at my father but he just stood there without a word from his lips.
“Your engagement day with Asher has been set, it will happen next month” she explained.
“What?” I sprung from the couch unsure
