Daydra's POV
Walking into the room, stopping at their words like a stunned mullet I stared at the women confused. It seems to be my go-to expression at the moment. They looked at each other and stood. Walking towards the door, Margaret waved her hands at me as if I am to follow them outside.
"We are taking you to the Alpha he has much to tell you."! Said Margaret
"After you will move into my sons house and stay there for a while. I don't mind having you at home, but it's been more than a few days and I haven't been able to have my mate and it's starting to show"! She said very politely, I had to check the sky wasn't falling.
That was a big change in moods like a revolving door. It had me even more confused. I just smiled and nodded my understanding which I actually didn't, but I guessed she meant alone time with her husband.
"My mate and I have learnt a lot over the last two weeks and there is, a lot you need to know, just how ready you are to know it is the question," said The Luna
"Wait, did you say two weeks." I gasped
"Yes" The Luna replied flatly.
"I've been in and out of sleep for two weeks and I didn't even notice"!? I questioned not believing the words she was saying.
"YES, and you also didn't realise you remember my airhead daughter" she snapped at me.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean..." I tried to say something, but nothing come out.
She held up her hand and sighed. I took her warning and remained quiet. My thought taken over again but mates.?
My Mate? That's a weird way to say you husband I thought.
"No, it's not weirdo"! I heard an unknown voice.
I jumped sideways, hands in a ninja pose at the ready, I looked around to see where it came from but there was no one else besides us three ladies. Who were now definitely thinking I was crazy and staring at me like I was a tool.
Clearing my throat pulling my jumper down to adjust it and regain my composure.
"Ok, yep just pretend that didn't happen shall we. Yes, yes, we shall" I turn to them as I signalled for them to proceed and ill follow.
I quickened my pace to catch up to the women who for old ladies walk extremely fast. I felt like I was the old one in the group right now. It didn't take long to reach the building her husband used as his workplace. Or at least I thought it was a workplace. I feel I may be wrong there.
Quite simple and modern, nothing much special about it. Four white walls, a double door to enter through, all the same colours of a normal house really. Except the rose gold border lining the doors and frame.
The only feature besides that, that stood out was the symbol on the door. It was engraved deep into the wood. The same carving on both doors. It was a spriget with golden branches for hair, rose gold leaves on the brunches and a beautiful emerald green and topaz blue infusion of colours for the body. She was very well done and eye catching indeed.
She reminded me of the tree of life necklace I've never taken off. Looking down at my necklace I noticed it's the same symbol as the door, but it was a beautiful woman as the trunk. looking back to the craving I noticed there was writing around her in what looked to be ancient text.
I looked back at the three women who had stopped to watch me seeming interested in how I was reacting to what I was seeing and putting together. I glance back to the doors. I trace my fingers over the spriget unsure how I knew what it was, and the text seem to change form right in front of my eyes.
Stunned and in disbelief I glance back at The Luna, and she nods for me to continue like it's nothing they haven't seen happen before.
I nod and look back at the writing. This time they have settled in place and it's like I'm reading English.
"In this pack we cherish each other, Our mates, Our children and our fellow creature. We live by trust, honour within our pack, and die with loyalty and love in battle. Praise the goddess and all things mother earth for we are The Spring Hollow Pack.!"
Well, isn't that nice I thought to myself not noticing that Margaret and The Luna were staring at me again and Wendy had left followed a man I've never seen.
They had a look of amusement and just as I went to speak The Luna as she was called looked at the doors and then back at me and Smiled.
"Seems the spriget has recognised you as one of her own" she told me proudly.
I feel like a little kid getting a pat on the back for being good. Why do I feel like this. It's all so confusing. The most annoying part is apparently I should know all this, but I don't. If my memory doesn't come back soon, I'll lose my s**t. I swear to the goddess or spriget or whatever it is.
"No offence to whatever you are. Don't smite me please" I said in a whisper to the engraving on the door earning me a raised eyebrow from Margaret. Just as I was about to ask the old batties a question, a scent hit my nose like a bear with a honey pot. Just this isn't a pleasant smell. It's familiar and sends chills down my spine. I shudder and tremble, as I feel my body going weak, falling to one side Margaret catches me.
I look up at her thankful for not letting me hit the ground to hard but scared as well. She looks worried. I look towards The Luna, she does to. What is this, this is... All the sudden my head it's reeling in pain. I scream out in agony at the flashes racing in my head. I see a fist, I see a man, I see dirty floors. I can feel the pain inflicted with each snippet. "What is happening" I scream.
"HELP ME PLEASE " I scream for anyone that will help.
Before I know it, I am in a warm embrace and my flashes slow, my pain starts to subside, and I start to come back to reality. As I shake my head clear of the last flash back, I look at everyone standing around me watching with worried expressions. Oh, my goddess how embarrassing is all I can think.
"Right, that's it. What the hell is going and who the f**k are you and you and you"? I exclaim point to random people.
"Who the hell has that effect on someone just by a simple hug. Like come on, I'm done waiting. Lay it bare, I can handle it. Lay it on me"! I yell as I am frustrated and annoyed but mainly embarrassed Looking at the man who was just hugging me and the two ladies standing over me.
Jumping up to my feet, dusting my butt off I quickly add "Well obviously I can't handle the full truth, maybe just a smidge like put some of Margarets sugar on it for me please" gesturing with my hands in the pleading pose. "But before you do, you who hugged me, you're coming, with me! In case I need that funky cool trick you just did"! "Umm Please and thank you"! I say with my hands on my hips rocking back and forth on my toes. The extremely dashing and well-built man steps forward and we lock eyes. He seems familiar but I can't place it right now. Trying to act cool I brush my hair out of my face dramatically.
"Yep, pretty boy stays the rest, off you go, nothing to see here. Crazy lady having a moment. That's right, bet you have done it to Susan, I see you looking at me. Yes, you have, that's right don't lie now girl."! I wave my hands around like a fish out of water to dismiss the crowd.
"If I agree to come with you, will I live"? He chuckles out.
Grabbing pretty boys' hand and not letting go I look at The Luna and direct her with my other hand to lead the way with an embarrassed side smile. His words made me giggle inwardly. Onwards Clancy I think to myself and away we go.
We entered the building into a large open space. It wasn't too special just like the outside. It had a reception desk on one side, well it looked like a reception desk, chairs placed against the walls and a small table in the middle. On the table there was books, magazines and a few things for the kids who might come in with their parents. After The Luna spoke a few words to the man behind the desk she shuffled us all down a small corridor to a normal but slightly different looking door then the ones I saw on the way here. It was made of oak wood and bore the spriget insignia.
I took a deep breath, the tension in the air surrounding this specific door was drowning. I started getting nervous and tightening my grip on Pretty boy's arm. He noticed and lent down to reach my ear.
"It's ok princess, this big dog won't bite, Hard" he giggles as he whispered into my ear.
Oh, like that helps me feel any better I think to myself. I playfully punch his arm with my free hand, and he gives me a wounded look as he holds his arm dramatically like I just cut it off. He laughed heartedly and his laugh was contagious as I start to laugh as well. My nerves are calming down slightly.
"Thank you" I say to him looking at the door the whole time. He nodded to me in appreciatively at my thank you.
