Jake’s POV
I have no idea when I dozed off with the terrible headache, also the fact that this bed is too comfortable for me to be comfortable. But I jolted awake with my phone fuzzing on the side of the bed. It took me a second to grasp the reality before I could put it against my ear.
“Hello?” I answered still with eyes close, and heartbeat racing.
“Watch the news.” It was Captain, his voice is always at the top of my head. I rose up on the mattress when I'm still half-confused what really is going on. Why his voice is different than usual? I look at the time, it’s a minute past five in the morning. “Watch the news.” He repeats. I still find it hard to distract meaning out of his words. “They arrested the killer.”
