Chapter 47

700 Words
Chapter 47 Jake’s POV, Another man enters in the picture after Robby was done with his atrocities. He is a big guy and that’s the only thing I can tell as his face is covered in a faceless mask. He wears a long scrub like that that completely covers his entire body, he also wears gloves in his hand to further hinder the transfer of the DNA. He walks in with a strong walk, confident, guiltless, shameless walk and stands in front of her. He admires her pain like that is the most beautiful thing in the world, I can only cry for her at this point, I know who Ari must have felt at that time. and now she’s been dead for three years when her killers walked free, she didn’t get the justice she deserved. Just then, I saw Nick ran in the frame. He kicked the man down. The man stood up shaken, enraged. He was twice the size of that meek teenager and had no problem beating him like his life’s value is close to none. Nick was beaten and kicked and punched and spit on until he gave up trying to save her. and then he was dragged away from the frame. Away, maybe to his death. Wait! There was something, something weird the way nick was looking at the direction of the camera and tugging to that masked man’s sleeved arm, pulling it up. Almost like he’s trying to show the camera something. I go back to rerun the video and I'm sure there’s something there. He is trying to show something to the camera. Why didn’t I see it before? why didn’t I f*****g see that before? I watch that part alone for as long as ten fifteen times. I know nick is trying to point something in the camera, I just don’t know what that really is. The picture quality isn’t good enough to zoom into their hand and see something that can be useful. Right now, only one person can help. I put on my phone and dialed Emily’s number. It took several tries to get her to answer the call. I can't believe she’s sleeping after hiding something this big from me. “Did you know about it?” was the first thing I blurted out just as she answered the call. “What did I know?” her voice is scratchy. I can believe I thought so highly of her. “This video. Nick was trying to show something when he was being assaulted. Did you noticed it and just decided to hide?” “No, what are you talking about?” “You wanted me to go back to this case. You wanted me to see this video.” “I don’t know what you're talking about. What’s in the video?” “It’s not clear, but it’s something that can give us clue to the other assailant in the video. There is some patch in his hand. I don’t know, it could be a scar, or a tattoo.” “Alright, I'm sending you a number. He is a video analyst. He might be able to enhance the picture quality. Let me know if you find anything. and also,” she added with a rise in her tone, “don’t ask him anything, send the video on this number and tell him what you want. Do it within an hour, he changes his number every two hours.” “What?” “He is a hacker s***h computer guru. He just wants to fly under our radar.” “What? You should’ve had him arrested.” “He doesn’t do anything illegal. He just plays with devices and accounts and take money and give money and he is very useful at times to even us. Why waste such an asset?” I knew she was lying, when she lies, she sighs a lot. Just what she did now. which means she’s hiding something. I got the number and texted the man just how she instructed. And in five minutes I had an enhanced version of the zoomed video. This guy is really something, huh. Just like magic.
