Chapter 101

Chapter 101 Jake’s POV She wanted to go around the school, I really didn’t. I still followed. As much as I thought it was a bad idea and not at all something that we were here to do, she was pretty positive if we just look around we can know a little better about the students, and probably the one guy we are looking for too. She was a few steps ahead, looking inside classrooms, watching every student. I was just watching her, looking around makes me dizzy. It was all fine until I saw a woman walking in and stopping beside her, in high heels and pant suit, she looked fancier than a teacher would. I can see her face, but she hasn’t yet noticed me. Even the students around her were intimidated enough to rush away inside their classroom, like rats scared to be snatched by the evil cat, before she even passed them be. It’s just too loud around for me to hear what she was talking to Emily about, but when they began to shake hands, I'm pretty sure she’s the Principal of Westin High school. Who hasn’t heard of her arrival in the town? A Harvard graduate who makes millions with her art business, owns millions, lives alone and still decided to devote her time to a high school. Leaving all those comforts, she’s settled in a five-room home. Well, it was pretty monumental when she started working as a school principal not too long ago, she made fans for that. And that is pretty impressive how she is working for community instead of obsessing over the amount of money she could make somewhere else. But I would also add she can't be as good as people put her out to be like she is mother Mary or something. No one makes that much money and still have goodness in their hearts. I walked a little high-paced when she moved her head to look at me peeking behind Emily. Her eyes fell on me and she stopped, she stopped whatever she was saying and just stayed stuck at me, like she was trying to read my face. Her face stopped at me like she could somehow recognize me, when I positively haven’t seen her before. heard of her, sure. Never seen her. maybe she’s seen me, I've had my fifteen minutes of fame. As I reached up to Emily, the woman I already know was Carmen Webb introduced herself as the same, but for some weird reason her gaze stayed stuck at me, makes me feel some weird kind of way. not weird that she was looking at me, it’s not so uncommon for me, but weird because I feel intimidated by her looks, almost like I've been put into spell that can bind me in some kind of trance. Probably not because of how full and red her lipstick was, or not because I have this feeling, the more I look at her the more I'll feel like I've seen her before. not even because she looks like someone I would hate even when she is traditionally what people define as pretty for someone who’s reached fifty. But I don’t like the feeling of being around even more than I don’t live the feeling of being in this school. She smiles feeling my discomfort. And takes back her hand. “I suppose you’ve been welcomed her detectives.” Her smile is hostile that should just be warm for me and her voice is exactly how you should suppose a villain would sound like. I have no idea why I've been feeling this around her, but there is no way I can shrug this feeling, because I can't. I'm not usually this kind of a person who find faults in everything and everyone. Today is my bad day. Hope it doesn’t get any worse. “Yes Ms. Webb.” Emily is completely un-weirded out. So, I guess it’s just me, I put the blame on the air of this school, my stomach feels weirdly churning. “We were just thinking if we might take a look around the school.” I saw a pause in her eyes as she might be contemplating having us go around. “Oh! I'm so sorry officers,” she still looks at me, my keens feel weird, they are growing weak. “I can't let you do that. We have a strict policy here I don’t allow strangers inside the premises with without an ID card. It’s for their protection, especially now, I need that to have faith in our school.” I'm totally cool with it. “And I'm afraid Mr. Wilson can be a problem, students might know him and his reason to be here and that could cause us a lot of trouble.” “Yes, I'm sorry. I didn’t think about all that.” Emily apologizes for some reason. “Hope you guys understand. If you want, I can call you up later, when things are ready and you can do rest of the work later.” Not sure that is a good idea, but it’s better than sitting idly for hours on end. “Sure, we would love that.” I add and pretty soon we decided to leave her own way. And yeah, now being outside, I'm pretty sure I am better now. But just when I think things are shining up, something has to happen to pull me out of that delusion and I think that is my phone ringing and it was Captain. I can't be good news. “Hello.” I put the phone on speaker while we sit in the vacuums of the car. “Did you ID the students?” “It might take some more time. they’re IDing the students.” I reply. “Then come back to the precinct. We might have to give up the case.” He says and the day just can't get any worse. Why do we have to give up this case now. it was hard enough for us to score it. I even had to be a slave, I was so angry that day.
