Violet's POV
After training, I went to shower and get ready for school. My heart was still beating heavily, but I knew it would calm down soon, hopefully. If not, then I was off to the doctor's office for an examination and a pill.
I dressed in a skirt and shirt. I loved skirts. They were so comfortable.
After going down the stairs, slowly, I slowly walked to school. Oak, my brother, and Cherri drove past. I used to ask for a ride, but I had stopped asking for a ride a long time ago. They didn't care about me.
As I walked, Stephanie caught up with me. As an Omega, she only had school half a day. She chose to go to school in the first half of the day and then work the second half. Lucky her! I had to go to school all day. Normally, Alpha's children excel at everything they do. I was not a typical Alpha child. I was average in my academic abilities. I had missed a lot of education when I was younger due to the doctor's appointments. This made me behind, academically. I did catch up, but I never did excel, not like Oak and Cherri. They were in the top ten of students at our school.
I arrived at school and went to the lockers. I got everything I needed for the first period and went to class. I was slightly late due to the problems after training, but the teachers were used to it. Classes were okay and lunch soon arrived. Stephanie and I sat outside.
"I can't believe Cherri partnered with you today. Normally, she stays away," she said.
"I guess it's a new way to torture me," I assumed.
"How's your heart?"
"Still ticking."
"If you need me, call me. They put me with flowers today. Ugh! If they die, it's not my fault!" I laughed at my friend's antics.
"So you're going to use me as a scapegoat to get out of work?"
"Yep!" I laughed again.
Lunch was over and I hugged Stephanie goodbye. Then I finished my last two classes.
When school finished, I walked home and finished my homework. Then, I hit the pool for laps. Normally, I would be in the gym or with a personal trainer, but today I was taking it easy. Since no one cared about me, I could do what I wanted for this time. The personal trainers never trained with me. They always claimed they were too busy. In actuality, they found it pointless to train someone like me.
I did my hour in the pool and then went to help the Omegas. I was in the middle of cleaning dishes when father mind linked me. He needed to see me.
"I need to see the Alpha. I'll be back in a bit," I told the head cook. She gave me a look and nodded. I barely got along with her. That's why I did dishes instead of helping to cook.
I walked out the kitchen and through the dining room. Then, through the foyer and to the stairs. The Alpha's office was on the fifth floor, along with the Alpha and Luna's bedrooms and their children's rooms.
I knocked on the door to the Alpha's office and entered once I heard his voice. Oak and Cherri were already there, of course.
"Took you long enough, Violet," Cherri sarcastically said. I didn't say anything and mentally rolled my eyes.
"Now that all of you are here," father started, giving me a look as if to say I purposely held them up. It's not my fault no one wants to build an elevator. "I can tell you some good news. The werewolf king has decided to host a ball in order to find his son's mate. Apparently they are having trouble finding her."
"That's good for him, but how does it help us? We are still 17. It will be two more months before we turn 18 and can begin our search for our mate," Oak stated.
"I know. That's why it's good news. The ball is in three months!" Father smiled as he said this.
Cherri jumped up in joy and clapped her hands ecstatically. She had already decided that there were no boys in our pack who were suitable enough to be her mate.
Oak smiled. He was fine with whoever his mate was as long as she was strong. No Omegas for him.
I just wanted someone nice. He could be any rank from Omega to the prince himself and I would be happy.
Cherri immediately started to recite all the things she needed to get.
"Father, I will need a brand new dress for this! I can't be seen at the prince's ball with something I've already worn!" she exclaimed. "I will need a dress, shoes, accessories. I will need an appointment for my hair and makeup to be done, too. There's just so much that has to be done!"
"Of course, Cherri. You will get everything you want. I will give each of you some extra money to purchase what you need," Father stated. Cherri squealed with glee.
"Even me, Father?" I asked. I normally tried to stay quiet in his presence, but I wanted to make sure I was included in this trip.
Father stared at me. I couldn't tell if he was surprised I had the audacity to talk or was annoyed I had talked.
"Yes, Violet. You are going, too. Everyone knows I have triplets, so it would look bad if I left one home."
I decided to be happy by his decision to take me and not dwell on his reason why. He handed us each an envelope with our names on it. I noticed that my envelope was a lot thinner than Oak and Cherri's envelopes. I opened mine and counted $500. I was surprised he gave me this much! Cherri frowned.
"I don't think $5000 will be enough, Daddy. Can't I get more? I want jaws to drop at my beauty!"
"She can have some of mine," Oak stated. He began to take some money out, but was stopped by father.
"No, Oak. You need to look your best. You will be looking for your Luna." He turned and looked at me. "Violet won't need so much money. She will give you half of hers." He gave me the voice that said there was no negotiation on this. I held back a sigh as I took out my $500. I gave her $250. She sighed.
"I still don't think that will be enough, Daddy," she said.
"If it's not, then let me know the difference. I will pay for it," he said with a smile. I looked down and tried not to cry. Let's look at the bright side. At least I had money and I got to go to the ball. Cinderella wasn't this lucky.
