Violet's POV
The day had finally come for us to get ready to leave for the ball. We would leave early and get there a little before the ball was starting. That way we would have time to get ready in our rooms. Each attendee would be given rooms for the night. Then we would leave in the morning to go back to our pack. Unless Cherri and Oak found their mates. Then we would stay a bit longer to coordinate who's moving where.
I had all my things together and they were placed outside my door for the Omega to get and bring to the car. We were taking two cars. One for Father, Oak, Cherri, and a guard to drive them. The other one for the luggage, an Omega to do Cherri's hair and makeup, a guard to drive, and myself.
"You need to make sure to clean these dishes before you leave," Matilda directed. I looked at the time. I had an hour before I had to go. I could do this if I worked fast.
I rolled up imaginary sleeves and got to work.
An hour later, I ran out of the kitchen and to the front. The first car was leaving and the second car was finishing packing. I took a deep breath and walked towards the car. I looked at the driver and smiled. It was Mike.
"I was wondering if you would make it," he said with a smile.
"Just barely," I said. I walked to the back and saw my things in the trunk.
"I made sure to grab your things."
"Thanks, Mike." I knew the Omega would have forgotten my things. I got into the car and waited for it to move. "Are Cherri and Oak's luggage in this car?" I asked the Omega that was already in the car.
"No. Their luggage and the Alpha's things are in their car. I have Cherri's back up dress and her things for tomorrow," she stated. I nodded. Of course Cherri would have two cars worth of luggage.
Cherri was going around stating that the reason the prince hadn't met his mate yet was because he hadn't met her. She probably had brought her tiara (yes, she had a tiara) with her.
Mike finished packing and got into the car. Then they drove off.

The drive was supposed to take two hours. After an hour, we had to pull over. There was a problem with the car.
Mike got out and opened the hood. Smoke flew out. He coughed and backed up, waving his hands in front of his face.
"Well, the car's dead," Mike said as he walked to the side of the car.
"You can't fix it?" the Omega asked. He gave her a look.
"I'm a guard, not a mechanic." He sighed and
I watched as his eyes glazed over. He was mind linking someone, probably the other driver. After a few minutes, his eyes unglazed and he sighed again.
"It's going to be a few hours before he can get to us," he said. "They are an hour away and it will take another hour to get here. That's not even talking about the time it will take to get them out of the car and their belongings, too." He looked off into the distance and then back at me. "We're looking at possibly three hours. Sorry, Violet."
"Can you reach a mechanic?" I asked.
"Not usually on a Friday night." His eyes glazed back over. Then he smiled. "Gamma Ralph is going to come pick us up. That should only take an hour." I sighed in relief. An hour was much better than three hours.
We sat around for that hour just talking and playing games. The Omega, Megan, was not interested in our conversations or our games. The car finally pulled up and we loaded everything into the new car. Then, we began our journey, again.
We got to the Werewolf King's pack house after another hour and forty-five minutes (traffic was crazy). Then we met our next problem. We didn't have an invitation. We were supposed to arrive with the other car. They had the invitation.
"I will get someone to get the Alpha and see if he verifies you all." His eyes glazed over and then he nodded. We were told to move over while we waited so that other people could get through.
We waited for thirty minutes before someone finally came down. It was Oak. He looked at us and nodded at the guard. We were finally allowed in. We grabbed the bags and followed Oak to their rooms.
"Where is my room?" I asked Oak.
"Like I would know," he replied. I looked around for someone who looked like they were in charge. It took me thirty minutes and lots of walking around before I finally found them.
"Excuse me," I said. The Omega looked up from her clipboard and looked at me.
"Yes? Is there a problem?" she asked.
"I'm just looking for my room."
"Name?"
"Violet Strongman from the Blue Moon pack."
She looked through her list and then turned the page. Finally she found my name.
"It seems you are on the second floor room 203." I smiled and asked how to get there. She quickly pointed the way out.
My family was on the third floor. I briefly wondered why I was on a different floor, but decided to go with it. At least I had a room.
I went into my room and quickly showered. I was sweaty from waiting for the car and my body felt icky from the sweat drying. After the shower, I dried my hair the best I could. I would be leaving it down since I didn't know how to put up hair correctly. Luckily, my brown hair had a nice natural wave to it. So it looked good down.
I brushed my teeth and put my dress and shoes on. I had already put on my necklace this morning. I looked at myself in the bathroom mirror and smiled. I thought I looked nice. I felt my wolf stir. She had been a little more active since we had gotten here, I noticed.
It's like she knew something was going to happen. Maybe my mate was here! That would be exciting!
I left my room and went to the third floor and to the room that Oak had brought me to. I knocked on the door and waited for a response. Oak opened the door.
"Well don't you clean up well," he said as he looked at me.
"Who is it?" the Alpha asked.
"It's me, Father. Violet," I said as I walked into the room. Father looked me over from head to toe.
"At least you won't totally disgrace us." He sighed and walked out of the room.
I glanced at my brother. He was sitting in a chair fiddling with his phone. He looked well in his black tuxedo with his long brown hair combed back.
"We're just waiting for Cherri. She wants everything perfect for when the prince realizes that he's her mate or if he decides she's worth it to be his chosen mate," Oak explained without looking up. He was probably playing a game. I nodded my head and looked around the room.
Their room was definitely bigger than my room. I walked to the window and looked outside. Some people were already gathered outside for the ball. Looks like it would be an outdoor ball.
Cherri walked in after another thirty minutes had gone by. She was wearing a light pink dress with a sweetheart neckline and off the shoulder straps. The dress was made of chiffon and was high in the bottom front and low in the back. There were dozens of white butterflies, flowers, and diamonds all over the bottom of the dress. Her heels were light pink with glitter straps. She had her hair up in a low bun with wisps of hair coming out the front. She was wearing her tiara, too. She looked like a doll. An expensive doll. She probably spent over a few thousand just on the dress.
"All right. I finally settled on this one. It makes me look sweet as opposed to easy," she said. Father walked in and ushered us all out. It was time for the ball. Past time, really.
