Dominic’s POV The first thing I noticed when I stepped into the apartment was how quiet it was. “Ethan?” I called out, dropping my keys into the dish by the door. My voice echoed back to me, unanswered. Nothing. My pulse picked up. Ethan always left some trace of himself behind, a half-finished cup of tea, his wallet tossed carelessly on the counter, the faint hum of his favorite playlist still looping on his phone. But now there was… nothing. I checked my phone. No new messages. The last text was from him at around five that evening: Ethan: leaving the office now, see you soon.
