Anna's POV
Will calls the meeting himself, and that's the first sign something's wrong, because Will never reaches out. We reach for him, carefully, and he answers frightened and hedging and looking over his shoulder. But this time he calls Evan, late, his voice tight on the phone, and says he has to see us both, tonight, that he's found something we need to know before it's too late, and something in his voice makes Evan go still and grim.
"He's scared," Evan tells me, hanging up. "More than usual. Will's been scared for two years, I know what his ordinary scared sounds like. This is different. This is a man who's seen something."
