Anna's POV We don't go to my house, or his room, or anywhere Cass's people might look. We go to the one place I can think of that's mine and secret, the old boathouse at the base of the headland where we sheltered once before, and I get Evan there half-carrying him, both of us bloody, the dark closing around us, and I bar the door and finally, finally let myself shake. He's hurt worse than he let on. That's the first thing I understand once we're safe and I can look at him properly in the thin light. The blade caught him across the ribs, deep, and there are other wounds, bites, gashes, the toll of fighting three wolves half-defenseless, and he's lost a lot of blood, and he's grey with it, slumped against the boathouse wall, and the wolf that came up so terribly is gone now, buried again,
