Anna's POV I lose sight of Evan the moment the crowd realizes the fight is over, and by the time I fight my way to the ropes, he's already climbing out of the ring, and his eyes aren't on me. They're fixed on the shadows at the back of the cannery, on the mezzanine where the good money watches, and his whole body has gone taut and terrible in a way I've never seen. "Evan." I reach him, grab his arm. He's slick with blood and sweat, still half-wolf, his eyes still carrying that silver blaze, and under my hand I can feel him vibrating with something enormous.
