“Has everybody had enough?” Jeffrey asks. Acknowledging our assent, he leads us to the lounge where he offers us our choice of film. While we’re choosing, he returns to the kitchen, where he sets to work preparing a tray of snacks in case anyone becomes peckish. None of us feels like watching anything too heavy. Alesha chooses a rom-com while Jenny picks a low-brow adventure. I’m not particularly interested, but happy to go with the flow. I’m enjoying the company and the camaraderie. Margaret helps us set up a DVD player in the same bedroom I was in last night. There are now three beds made up for us.
