“That"s great, thanks, as long as you don"t mind my breath smelling of vinegar,” Tom replied. “Oh, I hadn"t thought of that. Better do this now then.” And before Tom realised what was happening Sally moved across and gently pecked him on the lips. Having so recently awoken, Tom"s mouth felt dry and rough. Much as he enjoyed the kiss, he was stunned by the gesture and too dumbfounded to react, not that he"d have known how to react. He licked his lips to taste the sweetness and fragrance from where Sally"s lips had touched him and he suddenly felt self-conscious about how his own lips and breath might have tasted after his garlic-enhanced lunch followed by a sleep.
