35 The chamber whirled around his head, but Gavin forced his eyes open, staggered to his feet once more, and crashed into the wall by the window. They’ve poisoned me. The thought burned through the haze of fever, and Gavin realized that he was on the floor again. A cold sweat soaked his skin, and the light in his bedchamber was growing dimmer.
