In that moment, she believed him. --- But love that burns so brightly rarely goes unnoticed. Her friends teased her, her parents raised cautious eyebrows. “Be careful,” her mother warned gently. “A man who lives in the clouds can’t always see the ground beneath his feet.” Amara brushed it off. They didn’t understand. David wasn’t just a man with dreams—he was the dream. And when she looked into his eyes, she felt invincible. --- One night, after weeks of restless days, David asked her quietly, “Do you believe in fate?” Amara arched a brow. “You mean destiny? Soulmates? All that?” “Yes.” His voice was soft, but steady. She considered, then shook her head. “No. I believe we choose. Every moment, every step, every word—it’s all choice.” David smiled faintly. “Then I choose you.” The words hit her like thunder. She kissed him fiercely, clutching his shirt, as if she could hold him there forever. In that moment, she believed nothing could take him away. --- But the city never stopped moving. And fate—or choice—was already waiting around the corner. ---
