I'm sure it's every little girl's dream to be able to go to a special event, wear a beautiful dress and feel like a princess. Having seen women in movies getting dressed to the nines and feeling powerful in their own skin has always been something I admired and wanted to experience for myself.
When I was six years old, I drew a design of a dress I wanted to wear to my senior prom – it was dark green, with a simple wrap across bodice and lots of tulle occupying the bottom half of the dress. I didn't want a crazy dress to wear that had heaps of gems on it or was a funky color. The dress I designed would match the color of my hair and my tanned skin perfectly.
