Angel Of Death

Chapter One

After the Great War the new order was created by the powers that govern the earth and nobody was allowed to near the cave of Asa where magic first originated. The cave of Asa was where the first witch by the name Asa first appeared. The cave was said to have been in existence for thousands of years and had only begun to unleash terror on the people of Gazaa when the witch's sleep was disturbed and she awoke. This waking of the witch, Asa happened thousands of years in the past and the experience of the ancient people of Gazaa upon her appearance would never be forgotten in history.

First let us look back four thousand years ago when the ancient warriors of Gazaa upon their returning from war with Abeme kingdom decided to rest in the cave and eat the animal they had hunted. The truth was that the people of Gazaa lost in that war and were on the run when they approached the cave and decided to hide and rest in it. First they ate the meat and knowing that the road to home was still far decided to rest in the cave. The cave was in the boundary that separated Gazaa and Abeme and so no one from both kingdoms, not even the ancient kings of Abeme or Gazaa ever claimed ownership of the cave. The ancient king of Abeme once called it The Cave Of Evil. This was during the tale he told his only son who later lost mysteriously and never came back. That fateful day the king of Abeme had sat on his throne and had told the son the reason he called the cave at the boundary The Cave Of Evil. He told him that his great grand father before he died had took him to the mouth of the cave and had told him that all the treasures in the world could not compare with the treasures inside the cave and he further said that whoever goes in to the cave and comes out alive would be the richest man in the world but the price such person would pay for such greatness is his own life.

The prince had asked the father, "If the price to pay is the life of the one who seeks the riches then there is no point seeking for it for when one finds it one cannot make use of them"

"That's a great response my son" The great grand father of the ancient king of Abeme had said to him before taking him away from the cave side.

After the king had told his son this story he concluded by saying that anything that would demand the life of the one who seeks it is evil and that came about The Cave Of Evil name. But the prince of Abeme had decided to go see the cave and be sure that his father was not lying to him and upon his arrival he saw Asa. He was the very first human that saw Asa and he never returned to describe how she looked like. He was never found and hundreds of years passed.

War broke out between Abeme and Gazaa and the cause of the war was the accusation the king of Gazaa laid on the people of Abeme for being responsible for the missing of some of the important people of Gazaa. The King of Gazaa then never believed in the story of the cave and how those who went there mysteriously disappeared. This accusation was too heavy for the ancient people of Abeme and the king of Abeme declared war on Gazaa. This war lasted for years and at the end the warriors of Gazaa ran home with shame on their faces; but they did not reach home because they wanted to rest in the cave and rested in pieces instead.

Let us look at the story of how the warriors of Gazaa met their untimely death in the cave. When the war broke out between Abeme and Gazaa the people of Gazaa thought that by their numbers they would have advantage over Abeme warriors and so they went into the war with full confidence. They were winning but not until the king of Abeme decided to use himself for sacrifice in order to give his people victory. He had marched into his late father's shrine and had drew the dagger hanging on the wall and prayed to the gods. After his prayers he had included. "I don't want to give you a horse, nor do I want to give you a goat as a sacrifice to you. The king of Gazaa must have given the gods of Gazaa plenty of cows before they embarked on this journey. Look at your people gods of Abeme, they are being butchered and I'm left with no other choice but to run to you, to run to you for help. You have to rise up for your people and fight their battle for them. You have to wake up from slumber and take your sacred sword and fight our battle for us. I am not going to offer you a cow for you to do this for me rather I am going to over you my head. Take my head and fight the battle for your people".

Before this the war was ravaging close to the palace of the king of Abeme. The enemy was already on his doorstep and the cries of his people filled his ears. He let out a loud cry inside the shrine and used the dagger to slay his own throat and fell flat on the deity and his blood ran straight into the smoky pot. What happened after this was never forgotten till date. The angels of death were unleashed and they emanated from the graves. The people of Abeme witnessed the greatest and the most fearful battle the world had ever seen. The angels of death were carrying mighty swords and they were immortals The warriors of Gazaa could not understand what was happening. They were no longer fighting the warriors of Abeme but were fighting the dead. They began to retreat. The warriors of Abeme stood and watched. The evil that awoke on that day scared out the life of the warriors of Gazaa. Most of them ran but the angels of death ran faster. Most of them had their tongues plucked by the swords of the dead.

The king of Gazaa received the fearful news and he could not relax again. He decided to run away with his family but that was not to happen for he was killed alongside his family by something far more scary than the dead.

The warriors of Gazaa who escaped for their lives and were on their way to Gazaa had decided to rest in the cave. They had eaten the meat they hunted and were already lying down when one of them heard footsteps in the inner part of the cave. He opened his eyes and heard the footsteps again. He was about to wake his fellow warriors but paused and changed his mind. He waited to know if he would hear the sound of the footsteps again and so he did and he then a shadow and then voices. He woke one of his fellow warriors by whispering in his ears. "I think we are not alone here" he had whispered again and his fellow warrior saw what his friend was talking about. There were shadows moving in the cave and voices like discussion. The two warriors decided to go further into the cave to find out for themselves.

"We have to be careful to ensure those are not Abeme warriors or the beings that attacked us in Abeme. If we see them to be so we have to wake the others silently and leave here at once" said one of them.

"And if not we will then look for the treasures that had been said hundreds of times to be harboured here. Our king does not believe in this. He says it is a fairytale and there is no gold or diamond but we can check as long as we are here already. If this is true we can use the treasures to see ourselves out of this continent and cross the black sea to the other side of the world and live better lives" said the other.

"We have to be careful" responded the other person.

They began to tiptoe to the inner part of the cave but as they went the shadows seemed to be moving further away from them and so they continued to walk. When they looked back they noticed they gone far from the rest and one of them said, "This doesn't look real. We keep going and the voices and shadows we hear and see keep going further away from us. Some things don't seem alright in here" said the one that was woken up by his friend.

"You fear a lot. We need to go further for great things don't happen to weak people neither do great things found in an easy environment. Are you no longer a warrior? you should be brave" said the one who woke the other person up.

"thinking about what I saw in Abeme I have developed the fear I never believed I had. Look at me, running away from the battle field and now looking for treasure to further escape from the continent" said the one that was woken up. The name of the one that woke his friend up was Gerra and his friend was Haya but they both never got to know the names of each other because they used military names instead.

Gerra and Haya lighted their candles and continued to move until they were almost at the extreme of the cave. They stopped and had decided to check inside a box they found on the ground when the lights they were carrying immediately went off. They were startled as Gerra found the hand of Haya and held it. "Is that you my brother" Gerra called out.

"Yes" answered Haya but then the palm of Haya immediately grew thinner in the hand of Gerra and he called out, "Haya?" There was no answer and then came the loud laughter of a female voice and he immediately let go of the hand of Haya and began to run back to the others through the darkness. He was running and screaming and when he reached where the rest were they had already woken up and were startled by his screams. One of them held him by the shoulders and began to calm him down.

"What happened, where have you been?" asked the one holding him.

"I went further into the cave with Haya when I heard strange sounds and saw shadows of people moving about but then we saw a box and i was about to open it when our light went off and I could not find Haya, instead I heard a piecing sound of a female voice" he explained as he continued to pant.

"You went in with who?" asked Haya who was among the rest as he stepped forward. "I just woke up with the rest when we heard you screaming. I did not follow you to anywhere" Haya added and it now downed on Gerra that the person he woke up was not Haya but another being and that was the evil witch, Asa. Immediately Haya finished saying this Gerra fainted and the rest tried their best to revive him to no avail.

"We had better leave here" said one of them. They began to hear footsteps approaching from the inner cave and they began to hurry. Two warriors lifted Gerra to their shoulders and they began to hurry out of the cave but it was already late. Asa was standing before them and was laughing on top of her voice.
